This backpack was originally designed for sniper teams to carry various shooter/spotter-related gear, but has proven to be a great asset for all kinds of tasks both inside and outside of military origins during development. The large seven-litre capacity plus numerous external mounting options make this a very versatile general-purpose bag. On the inside, the bag has a number of options for organizing your belongings: elastic webbing loops of different sizes, flat pockets, attachment loops, and a loop surface for attaching organizers with hooks. On the back wall, two rows of 50 mm elastic webbing are sewn, forming loops of different sizes. The bottom row is sewn in two large, approx. 17 cm wide loops (designed for .50 cal Barrett magazines). The top row is sewn in three smaller, approx. 12 cm wide loops (designed for HK417 magazines). Each end of the bag has an elastic loop for smaller items. The front wall has two flat compartments with attachment loops at the top. A loop area of 35 x 10 cm on the inside of the front makes it possible to attach all kinds of organizers with hooks, etc. A large, open compartment on the back of the backpack has a removable closed cell foam pad on the inside and allows you to store the waist belt if needed. This open compartment can also be used as a huge belt loop if you want to carry the Askare on a belt or the waist belt of a backpack. The PALS webbing on the sides allows you to attach small pockets and accessories to the outside of the backpack. The horizontal webbing on the front of the backpack can be used to attach small pouches such as our Multitool pouch, Tourniquet pouch and Zipped GP pouch 2x2, or elastic drawstring loops. The many loops on the sides of the backpack can be used to attach elastic cord to carry all kinds of items on the bottom and front of the bag, turnstiles, ponchos, tarps, whatever. WEARING OPTIONS Due to its large size, the Askare carries the best on your lower back, rotate it forward for easy access. The strap is also long enough to carry the bag on your back like a sling pack. The strap is attached to large triangular wings for stability. For longer backpack movements, you can quickly attach the Askare to the compression straps on the side of your backpack. To do this, you'll need to add suitable buckles (2M PALS mount or split-bar female buckles) or use G-hooks. No quick-release buckles are included with the bag. You can also quickly attach the Askare to the side of your backpack by threading the compression straps on the side of the backpack through the large belt loops on the front of the bag. The strap can be stored in the open compartment on the side of the bag when you carry it on your backpack.     While natural foliage is the ultimate helmet camouflage, a bushy cover with a 3D effect might be the next best thing. Quick and easy to use, easy to customize. They effectively break up helmet silhouettes and provide quick camouflage adjustment to suit different environments. The design is very simple, a single flat piece of 500D Cordura with alternating zigzag shapes cut into it. The zigzag pattern is positioned in such a way that it creates an opening for NVG mounts on the front. Small slits have been cut around the edges for the elastic cord. Thread the elastic cord through the slits, tie it at the back, and pull it over your helmet like a shower cap. Finish it off by pulling back any excess material and rolling it underneath yourself to tighten the cover. If you want to adjust the fit, you can play around with threading the elastic cord through the slits and zigzag pattern in different ways. They are made of fairly high-quality photoluminescent material, the same material that we have been using for decades in various military applications. This stuff is quite effective and lasts a very long time. We examined 10+ year old material we had in stock and it performed with around 90% the same efficiency as its brand new counterpart. Since the material itself has a very long lifespan, we decided not to rely solely on lamination/gluing to hold the photoluminescent material to the hook band. These are therefore also sewn for the longest possible lifespan.     At first glance, the Hatka 12L may seem like just a roller bag with shoulder straps, but when you look closer, you'll see that there's actually a lot going on. This design was conceived as part of a special military carrying system, which required a small daypack that could be easily attached to a larger backpack.     TRICKS AND MODULARITY Clip and tie it to a larger backpack for use as a "grab and go" daypack. You can do this by tucking it under the flap or by using packing straps. The really great way is to attach the Hatka to the side compression or lid straps using G-hooks or PALS mounted SR buckles. You'll need four of them to securely attach the Hatka 12L to the back of your Jääkäri M, L or XL. Please note that these attachment buckles ARE NOT INCLUDED with the backpack. If you need to, you can add a lot of stuff to the outside of this otherwise quite small backpack. The PALS webbing allows you to attach bags, but you can also thread bungee cords to it (along with the four webbing loops at the bottom) for rain gear, tarpaulins etc. Because the Hatka is in many ways a spiritual successor to the venerable 202 daypack, it also has very rudimentary shoulder straps. This reduces weight and bulk, which is great if you're strapping it to a larger backpack. If you need to, you can easily replace it with more advanced padded options. Although there aren't too many compartments, you can still make good use of them if you pack smartly. Of course, you can put your large items in the main compartment, and the two small inner compartments can hold all kinds of small items and even water bottles. The world is full of covers for high-cut helmets, but since 99% of these covers don't offer a real way to properly camouflage the helmet with foliage etc., we decided to unleash our offer on those as well. Made of 500D Cordura instead of regular garment fabric for high abrasion resistance. Unlike most high-cut helmet covers, which only have that zigzag cord at the top, our cover has elastic cord attachment points around the helmet shell. This allows you to camouflage your helmet well with foliage and the like. Because the elastic cord is not sewn to the cover, you can choose not to use it at all or to adjust or replace it as needed. The back of the case features a piece of 25mm webbing, with bartacked mounting points for IR strobes and the like.     SIZE, FIT AND COMPATIBILITY The sizes are matched to the Ops-Core FAST helmet sizes. A cover in size L fits a helmet in size L, a cover in size XL fits on a helmet shell in size XL. At the moment we don't offer M or XXL size covers, but L size covers fit M size shells (and XL size covers also fit L size shells) with the elastic cord as a kind of size adjustment system. Don't forget that each cover comes with a piece of adhesive hook tape, use this to create suitable attachment points in your helmet for the attachment straps! With the elastic cord that surrounds the helmet, you can tighten and shape the case to better fit the contours of helmet shells of different shapes and sizes. In addition to the perfect match, the Ops-Core FAST XP, we also tested the fit on a number of other common helmet designs:
    • Ops-Core FAST SF (super high cut): fits pretty nicely after some tweaking
    • UaRms TOR-D (slightly thicker helmet shell than Ops-Core): fits very well
    • Galvion Caiman ballistic (very different shape): fits quite well after some adjustments
    • PGD ARCH (old generation, Ops-Core XP shell geometry): fits very nicely
    • PGD ARCH/MICH (current (2023) gen): Fits, but NVD bungees and rear rail screws end up under the cover*.
    *The current-generation PGD ARCH/MICH helmet rails are covered by the visor at the front and rear. This blocks access to the rear rail screws (NVD ballast bag attachment) and the NVD bungee cords at the front of the rails. You can easily customize the cover by carefully cutting small holes (and burning them gently to avoid fraying) for the bungees and screws. Changes to the cover are of course at your own risk!

At the very bottom is a drainage passage to let water out. The back features our standard PALS fastening webbing system with pleated tabs. The fastening straps can also be woven into belt loops for 45-50 mm wide belts. An elastic cord with a loop around the pouch offers adjustable retention and circumference adjustment. This is not only useful for loose magazines, but also to adjust the pouch for radios, IFAK inserts etc. LID CLOSURE SYSTEM The lid of this case closes with a polyethylene reinforced pressure tab and Velcro. A pleated tab is mechanically very simple, but extremely reliable compared to plastic buckles, snaps, or regular hook-and-loop work. Indeed, this is almost identical to the way the attachment straps on all of our PALS hold-down bags are secured, only shorter and with a quick-access tab. Thanks to the Velcro strap, the bag stays tightly closed even when half empty and can be closed quickly without the need to tuck in the tab. The hook section can be covered with a sewn-in piece of loop for quiet operation. Pro tip: If you're using a brand new case for the first time, press the tab with your fingers to give it a C-bend. This makes it much easier to use, as its claw-like shape finds its way better into the small pocket of webbing that locks it in. In the large space under the elastic bands, a block of max. 100 x 60 x 20 mm, the two smaller weight compartments each fit a block of max. 45 x 60 x 15 mm. The pouch can be attached to the back of your helmet/cover with Velcro and two adjustable straps. The straps come with screw buckles, attach these to the rear chin strap/rail screws on your helmet, place the pouch where you want it and thread the two straps through the screw buckles. If you fasten the straps properly, they will ensure that the pouch does not lie around when you weigh it down. If your helmet has rails with suitable attachment points, then you may not need to use the buckles. Because the pouch is open on the sides, you can guide the elastic of your goggles through it and the pouch will stay firmly in place on the helmet no matter what. The elastic loops on the outside allow you to guide and tidy up cords, attach glow sticks, etc. Even if the straps are attached to the inside of the back wall, there's still some loop surface you can use to store small patches when you're not using them.     An effective, simple and reliable two-point sling, originally designed for a special military customer of ours. The LW (lightweight) Griffin Sling is simple and unobtrusive, made of 25mm/1" webbing without any padding, for submachine guns and light rifles. Check out the MW if you want a little width and padding, or the HW if you need a good thick filling. QUICK ADJUSTMENT SLIDER The heart of the Griffin Sling is our patented slider for quick adjustment. Quick, effortless adjustment allows for an easy transition between carry-shoot-carry etc. under any circumstances. We know the world is full of buckles for adjusting slings, and most of them are pretty good too. We chose to design our own customization hardware for these simple reasons: 1) It must be solid metal with no moving parts 2) It must have the right toothing and protrusions to grip; 3) It must be compatible with the grip lip for use with winter handwear; 4) And it should preferably be made in Finland If you hate the tab of the webbing grip, or just don't need it or whatever, you can cut it off. The serrated sides and the protruding attachment point of the webbing provide good grip. INSTALLATION Since this is a simple two-point sling, you don't have to play with multiple ends of the webbing, only two. The 25mm/1" strap fits most sling swivels and fasteners out there. We make these with long enough woven ends to reach around most people. 1. Open the back loop by passing the woven end through the steel tri-glide buckle. Loop the belt through the sling-swivel, buckle, stock, or whatever attachment point you use on the back of your firearm. Thread the fabric through the buckle again and make a U-turn to lock it in place. 2. Open the front quick adjustment loop and remove the steel tri-glide from the tire. Loop the webbing through your front sling-swivel or buckle, reattach the steel tri-glide and loop the strap around the quick adjustment slider and back through the steel tri-glide. 3. Try to play around with different adjustment lengths on the front and back. Once you've found the right setting, you can roll up the excess webbing ends and stick them in neat bundles. Or, if you dare, cut and burn them. ORIGIN The Griffin Slings are the commercial offspring of a series of slings that we have designed for a military customer according to their requirements. Our customer needed good two-point tires for all types of small arms, including sniper rifles and light machine guns. The slings should carry an unpleasant weight as comfortably as possible, be equipped with a forward pulling force to be able to be extended quickly, fit on different fasteners and must be effective and reliable in "suboptimal conditions" (it is -30 °C, you suffer from sleep deprivation and wearing thick winter gloves and the use of NVGs that ruin your view of everything within arm's length). Then we went on to design the lighter medium version for carbines, and the lightweight one for SMG:s and the like. Because these turned out pretty well, we decided to make them available to the public. We chose to design our own customization hardware for these simple reasons: 1) It must be solid metal with no moving parts 2) It must have the right toothing and protrusions to grip; 3) It must be compatible with the grip lip for use with winter handwear; 4) And it should preferably be made in Finland If you hate the tab of the webbing grip, or just don't need it or whatever, you can cut it off. The serrated sides and the protruding attachment point of the webbing provide good grip. INSTALLATION Since this is a simple two-point sling, you don't have to play with multiple ends of the webbing, only two. The 25mm/1" strap fits most sling swivels and fasteners out there. We make these with long enough woven ends to reach around most people. 1. Open the back loop by passing the woven end through the steel tri-glide buckle. Loop the belt through the sling-swivel, buckle, stock, or whatever attachment point you use on the back of your firearm. Thread the fabric through the buckle again and make a U-turn to lock it in place. 2. Open the front quick adjustment loop and remove the steel tri-glide from the tire. Loop the webbing through your front sling-swivel or buckle, reattach the steel tri-glide and loop the strap around the quick adjustment slider and back through the steel tri-glide. 3. Try to play around with different adjustment lengths on the front and back. Once you've found the right setting, you can roll up the excess webbing ends and stick them in neat bundles. Or, if you dare, cut and burn them. ORIGIN The Griffin Slings are the commercial offspring of a series of slings that we have designed for a military customer according to their requirements. Our customer needed good two-point tires for all types of small arms, including sniper rifles and light machine guns. The slings should carry an unpleasant weight as comfortably as possible, be equipped with a forward pulling force to be able to be extended quickly, fit on different fasteners and must be effective and reliable in "suboptimal conditions" (it is -30 °C, you suffer from sleep deprivation and wearing thick winter gloves and the use of NVGs that ruin your view of everything within arm's length). Then we went on to design the lighter medium version for carbines, and the lightweight one for SMG:s and the like. Because these turned out pretty well, we decided to make them available to the public.     DETAILED DESCRIPTION The sauna has been a central and respected place in Finnish life for centuries, a place of birth and death, life and celebration. The word "hiisi" is old Finnish for a sacred place, a place of sacrifice or mystical power - the perfect family name for our sauna tents and accessories. The Hiisi 2 is a renewed design based on the old Hikimaja. The tent itself is actually a box with a sloping roof, not a center post. The corner poles are put into tubes on the outside of the tent, so that it is less crowded inside. The ceiling and wall materials are fire retardant for safety, but not fireproof, so sparks and flames will burn holes in them, so be careful. The interior is large enough for a double sofa, two people and the stove. The stove is placed in the far right corner, as seen from the entrance. The sofa is placed against the left wall, under the window. The window along the top edge of the sofa wall provides some light and a chance to look outside. The entrance is a simple zippered slot. A piece of cord is attached to the ceiling seam of the back wall, this is an attachment point for a sauna thermometer to help you monitor the temperature and not overheat the tent. The tent, poles and stakes can be neatly transported in a carrying case. Shoulder straps make it possible to carry a backpack and free up your hands for stoves or other accessories.
    INSTRUCTIONS - READ BEFORE USE! We recommend two to four people to set up the Hiisi 2. You need a hammer or something similar to hit the poles in the ground. We recommend using a sauna thermometer up to 100°C to prevent overheating and help you get the perfect temperature. 1. Find a suitable flat spot approx. 3.5 x 3.5 m, beware of dangers:
    • Dry grass and undergrowth, trees and branches (fire hazard).
    • Uneven surface (stove or users may stumble and fall).
    2. Unpack the tent canvas and insert the corner poles into the covers. 3. Spread the tent cloth with the poles approximately where you want it. 4. Aim one or two opposite corners at once:
    • Hammer a pole into the ground approx. 140/160 cm (wall height) from the corner.
    • Attach the corner guy line with a reliable knot to the pole.
    • Repeat until all the corners are in place and each shaving cord is fastened to the ground.
    5. Inspect the tent, correct if necessary by adjusting the poles, poles and ropes. 6. Install the stove and the sofa. 7. If necessary, attach a sauna thermometer up to 100°C to the line hanging from the ceiling.
    • The thermometer should hang 140 cm above the ground.
    8. Do not heat the interior above 75 ° C, extreme overheating can damage the tent and is unnecessary - it is steam that makes the sauna pleasant, not hot air. 9. Enjoy (with caution)! Warnings: This sauna tent is designed to be heated with the Savotta wood stove and stone rack. With improper use, the heated heater can cause numerous dangers and physical injury:
    • Savotta sauna tents are not designed for long-term stationary use and must be disassembled, cleaned, dried and stored indoors between uses. Sunlight will damage the substances over time. If you leave a tent upright for a few months, it will damage and any damage resulting from this type of abuse is not covered by our warranty.
    • To prevent damage to the tent from falling sparks, the chimney top should protrude 100 cm above the chimney gate. We recommend burning hardwood to minimize the risk of sparks.
    • Although the fabrics are fire retardant and self-extinguishing, they are not refractory - sparks and flames will damage the substance and burn holes in the fabric. Heater-heated tents will suffer from burnt holes due to sparks that touch the fabric during normal use. This is normal wear and tear and can be easily repaired if necessary. Our warranty does not cover fire damage due to normal or incorrect use.
    • Only use stones intended for sauna use. Improper stones, when heated, can crack and cause injuries from flying shrapnel.
    • Sparks and heat from the stove can set fire to combustible material nearby, easily remove combustible material in and near the tent before use.
    • Always keep a large bucket of water or a fire extinguisher within seconds range of the tent when the stove is hot, be prepared to put out any fire!
    • The stove and stones are extremely hot when heated and can cause injuries when touched!
    • After use, inspect the soil for any hot embers and extinguish it with water.

    The door is designed so that you step into the tent instead of crawling under a low side entrance. A freely hanging inner wall prevents the warm air from escaping from the tent when the zippered door is opened. A useful function if someone has to keep watch at the same time and look at the lit heater.
    There is a steel oven tube opening with a hinged lid between the door and the top of the front part. This design provides safety when using an oven for heating. If no oven is used, the folding cover closes the connection from the outside.

    The side zippers provide a quick way out, especially during military operations or in case of emergency. The zippers and their rolled-up outer cover allow for a very fast emergency exit - open the zipper a little from top to bottom and just push yourself through!

The tip can be left completely open or left open only on one side, depending on the wind direction, which regulates the ventilation and evaporation of moisture, depending on the conditions. Around a tree: The halves can be mounted around a tree trunk, so there is no need to wear or manufacture separate center posts on site. Another advantage of this method is camouflage, where the treetops provide excellent camouflage for aerial exploration. Hanging: Instead of using a central support, trunk or pole, the HAWU can be hung on a rope between two trees. This creates space in the tent for more people or to set up equipment for maintenance and work. With a central pole: the usual old-fashioned way also works with the HAWU. For this we offer specially made telescopic mid-sticks. Side parts: The two halves of the HAWU can be used separately as smaller open protective sails. This allows a larger team to split up and take half the tent with them.

The core of its flexibility are the zippers that connect the tent parts together and allow them to be distributed and placed around tree trunks.
    The door is designed so that you step into the tent instead of crawling under a low side entrance. A freely hanging inner wall prevents the warm air from escaping from the tent when the zippered door is opened. A useful function if someone has to keep watch at the same time and look at the lit heater.
    There is a steel oven tube opening with a hinged lid between the door and the top of the front part. This design provides safety when using an oven for heating. If no oven is used, the folding cover closes the connection from the outside.

    The side zippers provide a quick way out, especially during military operations or in case of emergency. The zippers and their rolled-up outer cover allow for a very fast emergency exit - open the zipper a little from top to bottom and just push yourself through!
    The top of the tent is made of excess fabric that can be used to cover the top when a center stick is used. The tip can be left completely open or left open only on one side, depending on the wind direction, which regulates the ventilation and evaporation of moisture, depending on the conditions. When using an oven, it is advisable to keep the tip open so that the warm air can drain moisture.
    HAWU tents are standard made of a naturally fire retardant and breathable fabric that has been treated against mold resistance. The fibers in the fabric swell when wet to ensure effective sealing against rain without the need for waterproof and poorly breathable coatings. For large orders, such as procurement by the military and government agencies, we can, and we have done so in the past, make the HAWU from other substances specified by the customer. CONSTRUCTION POSSIBILITIES
    The split design offers flexibility in both transport and assembly. Thanks to the numerous mounting methods, the HAWU can be set up practically anywhere, which minimizes the time and effort required to find the perfect location. Around a tree: The halves can be mounted around a tree trunk, so there is no need to wear or manufacture separate center posts on site. Another advantage of this method is camouflage, where the treetops provide excellent camouflage for aerial exploration. Hanging: Instead of using a central support, trunk or pole, the HAWU can be hung on a rope between two trees. This creates space in the tent for more people or to set up equipment for maintenance and work. With a central pole: the usual old-fashioned way also works with the HAWU. For this we offer specially made telescopic mid-sticks. Side parts: The two halves of the HAWU can be used separately as smaller open protective sails. This allows a larger team to split up and take half the tent with them.
    Due to the smart design of the corner sheath lines, no corner poles are needed. Just cut the lines or tie them around a rock or tree and pull on the quick belt adjusters to adjust the tension, and you're done. The lack of corner bars also means that there are far fewer separate components to maintain and move, which is a big advantage in suboptimal environments and under stress. As such, herrings are not strictly necessary, but are recommended. Although the shaving lines can be attached to the terrain and vegetation, this is not always possible. The corners of the hem should also be attached to the floor for a safe seal. The HAWU tent does not contain pegs, but we offer these as a separate accessory.
    The upper loops and the carabiner mounting system that secures the top of the tent make it possible to set up the HAWU with a standard center pole to attach a tree or hang it at the top. THE HAWU STORY The origins of Hawu tents go back to 1993 when Pasi Ylirisku, the current CEO of Hawu Pro Oy, and his staff began developing a new tent design. For more than two decades, they have tested and improved the Hawu tent to perfection with great attention to detail. In 2016, Finn-Savotta Oy and Hawu Pro Oy signed a cooperation agreement. The design of the Hawu tent was completed in collaboration with Savotta's designers and Hawu's original mass production design and development team. The first batch, which was completed in autumn 2017 and put up for sale.
