LJK MODULAR A modular, heavy-duty backpack with external frame, designed for the Finnish Armed Forces in 2008. Capacity approx. 80 l. The modular LJK is designed to meet the needs of the armed forces for a modern military backpack. The characteristics and details are well thought out according to the needs of the 21st century without compromising durability and reliability in extremely heavy military use. The backpack can be customized to your needs with separate pockets and numerous attachment points. There's not much left of the old LJK backpack, except for the name, external frame design and a construction that can withstand pretty much anything. The compartments and structure of the entire backpack have been completely redesigned. The end result is more practical than before and considerably more versatile. The modular LJK has also proved to be a functional and reliable carrier when used by the Finnish armed forces and the Finnish border guard. A traditional backpack with external frame is at its best with a heavy load, but is also suitable for lighter trips. The external tube frame ensures air circulation between the pocket itself and the user's back, significantly reducing the heat load. Although anatomical backpacks have taken over some grass in the backpack market, there are still situations where nothing is better than an external frame backpack. Compartments The upper compartment of the bag (dimensions about 50 x 35 x 25 cm) is closed by attaching the opening of the drawstring, which is secured with a waterproof protective collar that also allows overpackaging. The opening is first covered with a attached straps and is then covered with a generous flap that is secured with buckle closures. The straps are long enough to wear, for example, a sleeping bag or mat under the flap. In addition to the buckles on the straps, there are spare metal buckles under the valve in the event of a worst case scenario. The top and lower compartments of the bag are separated by an intermediate shot that can open, allowing the whole bag to be changed to one large compartment if desired. The bags are attached to the backpack with MOLLE girders used in military equipment. It is a very simple, durable and reliable attachment method. OTHER ANCHORAGES There is a generous number of fastening loops on top of the valve and in the main compartment. This makes it possible to secure even large loads (such as the beloved Sissi tent) on or under the valve by means of detachable tires. The loops on the inside of the flap are perfect for attaching a sleeping mat. Especially a military-style tent mattress can be attached to this by means of the elastic bands. There are several belt loops on the sides and back of the backpack that can be attached to various essentials with detachable straps. The backpack comes with four two-piece buckles that can be moved freely between the backpack's attachment points. By default, they are used to strengthen the attachment of the side boxes. There is a lot of MOLLE webbing on top of the flap, on the sides, back and bottom of the bag and in the lower compartment for attaching additional pockets. You can also easily tie supplies to the girth using detachable straps. The lower corners of the bag have open pockets to attach long devices, e.g. an axe handle, to the side of the backpack. The lower corners of the shoulder straps have loops that serve as attachment points for small objects, such as water bottles. SUPPORT SYSTEM The frame of the support system is the strong aluminium tube frame of the LJK model. Unlike civilian backpacks, it has no upper bend because the bend easily sits in the head's way when it is necessary to move on rough terrain. Furthermore, the frame is reinforced with additional support blocks. The shoulder straps and waistband are firmly padded and anatomically shaped. In addition, the lower back is supported by a separate thick pillow. The buckle of the hip belt is a special plastic buckle that can be pulled in both directions and can be opened by pressing on the middle. This backpack is designed to carry extremely heavy loads, just as its military predecessors have been since the early 1980s. With the roll top at the top, the zipper at the bottom and a drawstring distributor on the inside, you can use the main pocket in any way you want. By opening the distributor, the main pocket turns into a huge hollow space, allowing you to pack very large and long items. The zipper at the bottom provides quick access to all the gear you need most during the day, while the roll top provides weatherproof protection for most of your gear. The lower zippered compartment features elastic compression straps on the inside and four small mesh pockets to organize your gear. A zippered pocket on the inside of the lid provides secure storage for your wallet, keys, travel documents and phone. The roll closure, the floating lid and the compression straps on the side offer a wide range of adaptability to the volume of the backpack. A rifle backpack for a hunter which also meets the requirements for the transport of a firearm thanks to a new rain cover. It works both while hunting and on the way there. The robust and padded rifle compartment can accommodate a rifle with a larger scope as well. The whole package can be tightened sturdily with the compression straps of the bag, making carrying a firearm both comfortable and safe in any terrain. The slim design of Torrakko facilitates moving around in off-road conditions. The thinly padded shoulder straps make shooting while the backpack is on your back easy. The streamlined package has been designed to be as practical as possible. Torrakko has no extra protruding or entangling parts.

COMPARTMENTS

The bag (dimensions approximately 45 x 25 x 15 cm) is closed by tightening the drawstring opening which is covered with a protective flap that is secured with buckled straps. The main compartment opens also with two zippers spanning the full length the sides. If these are opened, the entire back of the backpack opens up, making all contents of the backpack very conveniently accessible. The bag can be tightened into a snug package by using the compression straps on the sides. There is a flat, zippered mesh pocket (dimensions approximately 20 x 20 cm) inside the flap where the game pouch of Torrakko is kept by default. The pocket is also ideal for other small items. The bottom of the backpack has a flat pocket which closes with Velcro (dimensions approximately 12 x 20 cm) where the rain cover of Torrakko is kept by default. The game pouch (dimensions approximately 35 x 35 cm) is a bag made of netted fabric with an opening that can be tightened using a drawstring. The game pouch is attached to the back of the backpack with four strap loops which are attached to the compression straps of the backpack. The rifle compartment of Torrakko (dimensions approximately 85 x 25 x 9 cm) is located between the bag and your back. It is open at the top and tapers towards the bottom for the barrel. The rifle can be secured tightly for carrying by using the compression straps of the backpack. The new rain cover covers the entire backpack and also the butt of the firearm which would otherwise remain exposed from the rifle compartment. The rain cover is fastened around the firearm with a zipper and a buckle. So with the rain cover in place, Torrakko is a legal firearm carrying case also in public places as well as in the car. You will no longer have to transport your firearm in a separate bag from which it is then transferred into a backpack. Your rifle can ride from home into the forest, during hunting and back again inside Torrakko.

OTHER ATTACHMENT POINTS

Extra supplies that would not otherwise fit inside the backpack can be tied conveniently to the buckled compression straps on the sides. Rain capes and break clothing, for example, travel with you conveniently and readily available on the sides of the backpack.

CARRYING SYSTEM

The back, shoulder straps and hip belt of the rifle carrying device are all lightly padded. There is plenty of room for adjustment in both the shoulder straps and the hip belt. The Keikka series bags can use an optional (separately available), padded clickable backpack harness. While carrying the backpack, the foam filling with closed cells on the inside of the lid provides a basic level of comfort against your back, even if you carry annoying mess in the bag. When a backpack with a bag like this should be as uncomfortable as possible, let's face it - this will never be as comfortable as a real backpack. Instead of building our bags with unergonomic, too long handles that also serve as shoulder straps, we've decided to make this a separate option for those who really need it, so we can build each carrying option in the right way for the intended feature. MILITARY GRADE MATERIALS AND CONSTRUCTION The bags from the Keikka series are made to last. The carrier handles are made of a single length of 50 mm wide band that wraps around the bottom of the bag, sandwiched between two layers of 1000D Cordura. Stress points are reinforced with double stitching and seams are finished with binding tape to prevent fraying. All carrier buckps are made of steel and are likely to last longer than the rest of the bag. Most of the materials we use for our commercial production are the same ones we use in equipment for the Finnish Armed Forces and other defence and security customers. Our most commonly used fabric in load carriers is extremely wear-resistant 1000D Cordura, according to FDF specifications, with polyurethane coating on the inside. The webbing and edge band we use are, again according to the FDF specifications, strong polyester band in different widths and thicknesses for different applications. Our green and M05 camouflage materials and accessories meet the strict FDF specifications for NIR reflection levels as they should be, as the same materials are used in official military equipment. PROPER RESPONSIBLE PRODUCTION We manufacture the vast majority of our products ourselves in our own factories in Karstula, Finland and Tartu, Estonia. Product development and special production phases such as laser cutting and metalworking take place in our main facility in Finland, the cutting and sewing of textiles takes place both in Finland and in Estonia. Here at Savotta we do not dream of low labour costs, but we work constantly hard to keep the production in our own hands! LIGHT BORDER PATROL Known in Finnish as the Kevyt Rajapartio, originally designed for the Finnish border guard. Capacity approx. 25 l. Compact, simple and versatile. Due to its slim shape, the backpack will not get in the way even in tight spaces and is ideal for skiing and hunting. In its size category, the Kevyt Rajapartio is an unusually sturdy backpack to carry. The internal support frame reinforced with aluminum keeps the backpack firmly in shape, even with a heavy load. With the compression straps of the bag, even a pack that is not full can be fastened so that it sits firmly and does not move back and forth. Compartments The bag (dimensions approximately 50 x 25 x 10–20 cm) is closed by tightening the opening of the drawstring, which is secured with a waterproof protective collar that also allows overpackaging. The opening is covered with a flap that encloses the top of the backpack and is fastened with straps. The generous length of the straps offers plenty of space under the flap to overpack. The contents of the upper compartment are also quickly accessed from the right side via a vertical zipper that runs over the full height of the backpack. Against the back in the bag is a pocket the size of the entire back for the supporting frame of the backpack. The compartment is also ideal for carrying, for example, a water bag or other flat stuff. There's a holder for a thermos bottle in the bag, so you can always find him where it should be. OTHER ANCHORAGES On the flap at the back of the backpack and at the bottom of the bag you will find fastening loops to carry a rifle. The loops are also equally suitable for carrying other exceptionally long devices. The load is secured by tightening a belt that encloses the entire backpack. It is also possible to attach items that would not otherwise fit in the backpack behind the compression straps of the bag. The bottom of the backpack has four fastening loops for detachable straps. Tying to the bottom is an excellent method of wearing for, for example, rolled-up sleeping mats. On both sides of the hip belt are fastening loops for dangling small objects. SUPPORT SYSTEM The wide, anatomically shaped, sturdy shoulder straps and the well-padded hip belt ensure supported and comfortable wearing. The hip belt buckle can be quickly detached with one hand, which is a very valuable feature in a possible emergency. The nodded chest strap provides extra comfort and support when wearing. With the support handle on the top, the backpack is also easy to carry by hand. The back is reinforced with a very durable plastic plate frame on which two vertical aluminum rods are attached with rivets. This lightweight frame keeps the backpack upright and is comfortable to carry, even with a slightly heavier load. The support frame can also be removed from the backpack if desired. The generously sized and sturdy cushions against the back are a rarity in a backpack of this category and make the Kevyt Rajapartio a surprisingly comfortable little backpack to carry.
