The HAWU is a highly customizable security system designed for long-term use. It is perfect for the most demanding environments, also for military use all year round. Designed for versatility and adaptability, the HAWU is highly flexible when it comes to finding a suitable place to set up. This requires very few accessories. The core of its flexibility are the zippers that connect the tent parts together and allow them to be distributed and placed around tree trunks.
The door is designed so that you step into the tent instead of crawling under a low side entrance. A freely hanging inner wall prevents the warm air from escaping from the tent when the zippered door is opened. A useful function if someone has to keep watch at the same time and look at the lit heater.
There is a steel oven tube opening with a hinged lid between the door and the top of the front part. This design provides safety when using an oven for heating. If no oven is used, the folding cover closes the connection from the outside.
The side zippers provide a quick way out, especially during military operations or in case of emergency. The zippers and their rolled-up outer cover allow for a very fast emergency exit - open the zipper a little from top to bottom and just push yourself through!
The top of the tent is made of excess fabric that can be used to cover the top when a center stick is used. The tip can be left completely open or left open only on one side, depending on the wind direction, which regulates the ventilation and evaporation of moisture, depending on the conditions. When using an oven, it is advisable to keep the tip open so that the warm air can drain moisture.
HAWU tents are standard made of a naturally fire retardant and breathable fabric that has been treated against mold resistance. The fibers in the fabric swell when wet to ensure effective sealing against rain without the need for waterproof and poorly breathable coatings. For large orders, such as procurement by the military and government agencies, we can, and we have done so in the past, make the HAWU from other substances specified by the customer. CONSTRUCTION POSSIBILITIES
The split design offers flexibility in both transport and assembly. Thanks to the numerous mounting methods, the HAWU can be set up practically anywhere, which minimizes the time and effort required to find the perfect location. Around a tree: The halves can be mounted around a tree trunk, so there is no need to wear or manufacture separate center posts on site. Another advantage of this method is camouflage, where the treetops provide excellent camouflage for aerial exploration. Hanging: Instead of using a central support, trunk or pole, the HAWU can be hung on a rope between two trees. This creates space in the tent for more people or to set up equipment for maintenance and work. With a central pole: the usual old-fashioned way also works with the HAWU. For this we offer specially made telescopic mid-sticks. Side parts: The two halves of the HAWU can be used separately as smaller open protective sails. This allows a larger team to split up and take half the tent with them.
Due to the smart design of the corner sheath lines, no corner poles are needed. Just cut the lines or tie them around a rock or tree and pull on the quick belt adjusters to adjust the tension, and you're done. The lack of corner bars also means that there are far fewer separate components to maintain and move, which is a big advantage in suboptimal environments and under stress. As such, herrings are not strictly necessary, but are recommended. Although the shaving lines can be attached to the terrain and vegetation, this is not always possible. While natural foliage is the ultimate helmet camouflage, a bushy cover with a 3D effect might be the next best thing. Quick and easy to use, easy to customize. They effectively break up helmet silhouettes and provide quick camouflage adjustment to suit different environments. The design is very simple, a single flat piece of 500D Cordura with alternating zigzag shapes cut into it. The zigzag pattern is positioned in such a way that it creates an opening for NVG mounts on the front. Small slits have been cut around the edges for the elastic cord. Thread the elastic cord through the slits, tie it at the back, and pull it over your helmet like a shower cap. Finish it off by pulling back any excess material and rolling it underneath yourself to tighten the cover. If you want to adjust the fit, you can play around with threading the elastic cord through the slits and zigzag pattern in different ways. And if you get really wild and feel the need: you can even cut off excess material from the cover, but of course, such huge adjustments are at your own risk. KEY FEATURES

A versatile helmet cover with the right camouflage attachment cords throughout. Designed around the geometry of the Ops Core FAST XP high cut helmet shell, but also fits many other high cut helmets. The world is full of covers for high-cut helmets, but since 99% of these covers don't offer a real way to properly camouflage the helmet with foliage etc., we decided to unleash our offer on those as well. Made of 500D Cordura instead of regular garment fabric for high abrasion resistance. Unlike most high-cut helmet covers, which only have that zigzag cord at the top, our cover has elastic cord attachment points around the helmet shell. This allows you to camouflage your helmet well with foliage and the like. Because the elastic cord is not sewn to the cover, you can choose not to use it at all or to adjust or replace it as needed. The back of the case features a piece of 25mm webbing, with bartacked mounting points for IR strobes and the like. Then we have the standard loops on the sides, top and back for identifiers, patches, cameras, pockets for counterweight etc. The cover is attached via six pieces of one-wrap to pieces of hook on the inside of the helmet shell. If your specific helmet doesn't have pieces of hook exactly where it needs to: that's why we supply a piece of self-adhesive hook of 50 x 150 mm with every cover! SIZE, FIT AND COMPATIBILITY The sizes are matched to the Ops-Core FAST helmet sizes. A cover in size L fits a helmet in size L, a cover in size XL fits on a helmet shell in size XL. At the moment we don't offer M or XXL size covers, but L size covers fit M size shells (and XL size covers also fit L size shells) with the elastic cord as a kind of size adjustment system. Don't forget that each cover comes with a piece of adhesive hook tape, use this to create suitable attachment points in your helmet for the attachment straps! With the elastic cord that surrounds the helmet, you can tighten and shape the case to better fit the contours of helmet shells of different shapes and sizes. In addition to the perfect match, the Ops-Core FAST XP, we also tested the fit on a number of other common helmet designs:

Ops-Core FAST SF (super high cut): fits pretty nicely after some tweaking

UaRms TOR-D (slightly thicker helmet shell than Ops-Core): fits very well

Galvion Caiman ballistic (very different shape): fits quite well after some adjustments

PGD ARCH (old generation, Ops-Core XP shell geometry): fits very nicely

PGD ARCH/MICH (current (2023) gen): Fits, but NVD bungees and rear rail screws end up under the cover*.

*The current-generation PGD ARCH/MICH helmet rails are covered by the visor at the front and rear. This blocks access to the rear rail screws (NVD ballast bag attachment) and the NVD bungee cords at the front of the rails. You can easily customize the cover by carefully cutting small holes (and burning them gently to avoid fraying) for the bungees and screws. Changes to the cover are of course at your own risk!

DETAILED DESCRIPTION The sauna has been a central and respected place in Finnish life for centuries, a place of birth and death, life and celebration. The word "hiisi" is old Finnish for a sacred place, a place of sacrifice or mystical power - the perfect family name for our sauna tents and accessories. The Hiisi 2 is a renewed design based on the old Hikimaja. The tent itself is actually a box with a sloping roof, not a center post. The corner poles are put into tubes on the outside of the tent, so that it is less crowded inside. The ceiling and wall materials are fire retardant for safety, but not fireproof, so sparks and flames will burn holes in them, so be careful. The interior is large enough for a double sofa, two people and the stove. The stove is placed in the far right corner, as seen from the entrance. The sofa is placed against the left wall, under the window. The window along the top edge of the sofa wall provides some light and a chance to look outside. The entrance is a simple zippered slot. A piece of cord is attached to the ceiling seam of the back wall, this is an attachment point for a sauna thermometer to help you monitor the temperature and not overheat the tent. The tent, poles and stakes can be neatly transported in a carrying case. Shoulder straps make it possible to carry a backpack and free up your hands for stoves or other accessories.
INSTRUCTIONS - READ BEFORE USE! We recommend two to four people to set up the Hiisi 2. You need a hammer or something similar to hit the poles in the ground. We recommend using a sauna thermometer up to 100°C to prevent overheating and help you get the perfect temperature. 1. Find a suitable flat spot approx. 3.5 x 3.5 m, beware of dangers:

Dry grass and undergrowth, trees and branches (fire hazard).

Uneven surface (stove or users may stumble and fall).

2. Unpack the tent canvas and insert the corner poles into the covers. 3. Spread the tent cloth with the poles approximately where you want it. 4. Aim one or two opposite corners at once:

Hammer a pole into the ground approx. 140/160 cm (wall height) from the corner.

Attach the corner guy line with a reliable knot to the pole.

Repeat until all the corners are in place and each shaving cord is fastened to the ground.

5. Inspect the tent, correct if necessary by adjusting the poles, poles and ropes. 6. Install the stove and the sofa. 7. If necessary, attach a sauna thermometer up to 100°C to the line hanging from the ceiling.

The thermometer should hang 140 cm above the ground.

8. Do not heat the interior above 75 ° C, extreme overheating can damage the tent and is unnecessary - it is steam that makes the sauna pleasant, not hot air. 9. Enjoy (with caution)! Warnings: This sauna tent is designed to be heated with the Savotta wood stove and stone rack. With improper use, the heated heater can cause numerous dangers and physical injury:

Savotta sauna tents are not designed for long-term stationary use and must be disassembled, cleaned, dried and stored indoors between uses. Sunlight will damage the substances over time. If you leave a tent upright for a few months, it will damage and any damage resulting from this type of abuse is not covered by our warranty.

To prevent damage to the tent from falling sparks, the chimney top should protrude 100 cm above the chimney gate. We recommend burning hardwood to minimize the risk of sparks.

Although the fabrics are fire retardant and self-extinguishing, they are not refractory - sparks and flames will damage the substance and burn holes in the fabric. Heater-heated tents will suffer from burnt holes due to sparks that touch the fabric during normal use. This is normal wear and tear and can be easily repaired if necessary. Our warranty does not cover fire damage due to normal or incorrect use.

Only use stones intended for sauna use. Improper stones, when heated, can crack and cause injuries from flying shrapnel.

Sparks and heat from the stove can set fire to combustible material nearby, easily remove combustible material in and near the tent before use.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION The sauna has been a central and honored place in Finnish life for centuries, a place of birth and death, life and celebration. The word "hiisi" is old Finnish for a sacred place, a place of sacrifice or mystical power - the perfect family name for our sauna tents and accessories. The Hiisi 4 is built around the basics of our field camps, corner poles, telescopic centre pole, shaving lines and pegs. The canines are inserted into covers on the outside of the tent, which makes the interior a little less crowded. The ceiling and wall material is fire retardant for safety, but not fire resistant, so sparks and flames will burn holes in it, so be careful. The interior is large enough for two double sofas, totalling four people, and the stove. The stove is at the back, benches on the sides. The window at the back lets in some light and lets you enjoy the view out. Two zippers are used to close the door, which can also be rolled up and secured by two strips of Velcro. A piece of cord is attached to the centre of the ceiling, which is intended as a confirmation point for a sauna thermometer to help you keep up with the temperature and not overheat the tent. The tent, poles and poles can be neatly stored in a carrier bag for transport. Shoulder straps allow you to carry a backpack so you have your hands free for cookers or other accessories.
INSTRUCTIONS - READ BEFORE USE! We recommend two to four people to set up the Hiisi 4. You need a hammer or similar tool to smash the poles into the ground. We recommend using a sauna thermometer of up to 100°C to prevent overheating and help you get the perfect temperature.

Find a suitable flat spot about 3.5 x 3.5 m, beware of dangers: Dry grass and undergrowth, trees and branches (fire hazard). Uneven surface (heater or users may stumble and fall).

Unseed and insert the corner sticks into the sleeves.

Spread out the tent sheet with the sticks approximately at the place you want it to have.

Set one or two opposite angles at the same time: Hammer a stick about in the ground. 140 cm from the corner. Attach the corner rope to the pole with a reliable knot. Repeat until all corners are in place and each shaving line is pinned to the ground.

Install the telescopic center pole, use the pen to adjust it for the correct height and tension.

Inspect the tent, correct if necessary by adjusting the poles, poles and ropes.

Install heater and benches.

If available, attach a sauna thermometer of up to 100 °C to the line hanging from the ceiling. The thermometer should hang 150 cm above the ground.

Do not heat the Hiisi 4 above 75 °C, extreme overheating can damage the tent and is not necessary - it is steam that makes the sauna pleasant, not hot air.

Savotta sauna tents are not designed for long-term idling and must be disassembled, cleaned, dried and stored indoors between use. Sunlight will damage the substances over time. By keeping a tent upright for several months, it is damaged and any damage caused by this type of abuse is not covered by our warranty.

To prevent tent damage from falling sparks, the top of the chimney should protrude 100 cm above the chimney opening. We recommend firing hardwood to minimize the risk of sparks.

Although the substances are fire retardant and self-extinguishing, they are not fire resistant - sparks and flames will damage and burn holes in the fabric. Heater heated tents will in normal use incur some burnt holes due to sparks that touch the fabric. This is normal wear and tear and can be easily repaired if necessary. Our warranty does not cover fire damage due to normal or incorrect use.

The external LJK tubular aluminium frame ensures that the backpack does not hang and transfers the weight of the backpack to your hips, even when loaded with heavy and cumbersome load. Both the shoulder harness and the lap belt are generously filled with thermoformed foam filling with closed cells. The shoulder harness is S-shaped and has a detachable chest strap. The forward pull setting on the lap belt is easy to put on even under load. The buckle on the side provides quick and easy opening when needed. The high LJK frame offers good lifting possibilities. Load lifts are mounted between the top of the frame and the shoulder belt. The Savotta Jääkäri XL is the replacement for the Savotta LJK which goes out of the range.

The inside of the lid is equipped with strips loop for attaching accessories with a hook back. The main compartment is a hollow space with two mesh pockets, one at each end, to help organize smaller items. The external side compartment measures 35 x 23 x 5 cm and is designed for quick access and organization of smaller items and A4 documents. The back wall features two flat mesh pouches and a D-ring and two webbing tabs to secure valuables with a teat cord or buckles. The inside of the front wall is equipped with a loop for attachment of accessories with a hook back. The flat external pouch with Velcro closure measures 24 x 20 cm and is suitable for A5 documents and similar smaller objects. Two 10 x 15 cm loop fields on the side and end of the bag accept most name bands and a number of other identification data. Each D-ring can also be used to confirm name tags. We have put extra energy into providing the best possible carrying experience. Due to the length of the carrying brackets, the bag remains well at a comfortable carrying height and a good control is possible. Each end is equipped with a handle for comfortable lifting during transport. Six steel D-rings are used to attach the included adjustable shoulder strap, which offer different orientations to suit your personal taste. The D-rings are also the fastening points for the optional padded shoulder straps. MODULAR AND CUSTOMIZABLE The loop strips in the main compartment and side compartment cover are suitable for various hook-to-loop fastenable accessories, pockets and organizers. This allows you to customize your bag to your preferences, or build it into a specialized toolbox for whatever work you need it. The foam filling with closed cells on the inside of the zippered lid and the bottom of the bag can be easily removed, replaced or reinforced. This allows the end user to easily adjust the bag with extra padding or plastic inserts if that extra level of protection or padding is required. The Keikka series bags can use an optional (separately available), padded clickable backpack harness. While carrying the backpack, the foam filling with closed cells on the inside of the lid provides a basic level of comfort against your back, even if you carry annoying mess in the bag. When a backpack with a bag like this should be as uncomfortable as possible, let's face it - this will never be as comfortable as a real backpack. Instead of building our bags with unergonomic, too long handles that also serve as shoulder straps, we've decided to make this a separate option for those who really need it, so we can build each carrying option in the right way for the intended feature. MILITARY GRADE MATERIALS AND CONSTRUCTION The bags from the Keikka series are made to last. The carrier handles are made of a single length of 50 mm wide band that wraps around the bottom of the bag, sandwiched between two layers of 1000D Cordura. Stress points are reinforced with double stitching and seams are finished with binding tape to prevent fraying. All carrier buckps are made of steel and are likely to last longer than the rest of the bag. Most of the materials we use for our commercial production are the same ones we use in equipment for the Finnish Armed Forces and other defence and security customers. Our most commonly used fabric in load carriers is extremely wear-resistant 1000D Cordura, according to FDF specifications, with polyurethane coating on the inside. The webbing and edge band we use are, again according to the FDF specifications, strong polyester band in different widths and thicknesses for different applications. Our green and M05 camouflage materials and accessories meet the strict FDF specifications for NIR reflection levels as they should be, as the same materials are used in official military equipment. PROPER RESPONSIBLE PRODUCTION We manufacture the vast majority of our products ourselves in our own factories in Karstula, Finland and Tartu, Estonia. Product development and special production phases such as laser cutting and metalworking take place in our main facility in Finland, the cutting and sewing of textiles takes place both in Finland and in Estonia. Here at Savotta we do not dream of low labour costs, but we work constantly hard to keep the production in our own hands! LEARN FINNISH WITH SAVOTTA In Finland we have something like "keikka", like at a gig (concert), business trip or burglary. For a boulder case you need a bag, a bag of the right size with handles and shoulder strap, preferably with some basic pockets for organization. And it must be strong enough to carry a heavy burden. "Keikkalaukku" ("laukku" = bag) has for decades established itself as the general Finnish term for duffel bags, bags for equipment, you know THAT a certain type of good heavy transport bags.
