If you need heat, merino will also keep you warm. The shaft is made of a mixture of bamboo, polyamide and lycra. Very thick for comfort, good fit and high moisture absorption. Operator keeps your boots dry. Note that bamboo material takes a long time to dry, this is the property of keeping the moisture inside the fiber and not wetting the boots.
