A classic retro backpack for a hunter; the design has remained unchanged since the 1950s. After making something that works once, why fix the design if it is not broken! Just as great for hunting, camping and the city today as it was 60 years ago.

Due to its size, the 323 saddle sack is ideal for one or two day hunting trips: the backpack holds the necessary overnight equipment, provisions and other useful gadgets and tools comfortably. Once upon a time when men were made of steel and women as tough as nails, you could survive for weeks just with the saddle sack (or months, if you ask remote patrollers who served in wars), sleeping in the wilderness and eating what nature has to offer. Although the needs of a modern camper are different, a good backpack design is still a good backpack design. The traditional saddle sack is as fine a carrying device as it ever was, and it has the sort of a romantic retro vibe that you just cannot find in contemporary backpacks.

COMPARTMENTS

The main compartment of the bag (dimensions approximately 45 x 35 x 25 cm) is closed by tightening the opening which is covered with a flap that can be secured with leather straps. The straps are long enough to attach, for example, a rolled sleeping mat or blanket under the flap. If necessary, additional detachable straps can be used to lengthen the straps. The size of the main compartment of the backpack is large enough to fit even a heavy winter sleeping bag inside. The side pockets (dimensions approximately 33 x 10 x 6 cm) are closed with fitted flaps with good coverage and secured with leather straps. The side pockets are ideal for packing large Thermos flasks and other cumbersome, long supplies. The back pocket (dimensions approximately 20 x 30 x 6 cm) is closed with a flap equipped with two leather straps. You can pack plenty of small supplies into the generously sized outer pocket for quick and easy Access.

OTHER ATTACHMENT POINTS

There are attachment loops on the sides of the opening for detachable straps. By using straps, it is possible to attach long rolls, such as a blanket or a sleeping mat, securely on top of the bag. Ensure sturdy attachment by closing the flap of the bag over the roll.

CARRYING SYSTEM

A special feature of the saddle sack is its steel pipe frame which enables steady and comfortable carrying. The sturdy frame holds the bag firmly in shape and the horizontal leather strap stretched across the lower part of the frame sits comfortably against your lower back, keeping the bag itself from touching your back. The shoulder straps are wide leather straps, the length of which can be adjusted with buckles. Because of the steel pipe frame, it is much more comfortable to carry the saddle sack than a frameless backpack, particularly over long distances and with a heavy load.

Savotta Kukkaro hip pack

Compact waist bag with versatile internal organization and external attachment points. Waist bags are already very versatile, but the Kukkaro is even more so thanks to the many ways you can customize it to suit your specific needs. On the inside, the bag has a number of options for organizing your belongings: elastic webbing loops of different sizes, flat pockets, tie-down loops and a loop surface for attaching organizers with hooks. The back wall has a large flat compartment for larger items. On top of the compartment is sewn a single row of 50 mm elastic webbing, which contains two smaller approx. 4 cm wide loops and a larger approx. 9 cm wide loop, suitable for small items such as multi-tools, lighters etc. The front wall has two small flat compartments with attachment loops at the top. Savotta Side pouch 8L

Really nothing special, but exactly what you need for a side pocket on your backpack. The zipper is covered for extra water repellency and protection against wear and dirt. The vertical webbings on the front keep the compression straps of your backpack neatly in place over the pouch, so that they can also compress the pouch well. These can also be used as attachment points for bungee cords, carabiners, and things like that. A 25 mm webbing loop and D-ring on the top of the rear inner wall make it possible to secure small and important items, the flat rear compartment provides rudimentary organization for smaller items. The bottom and the lower half of the sides are lined with 210D polyamide for extra wear resistance. A through-through opening allows for the drainage of water that could seep into the bag. The back is equipped with our standard PALS fastening web belt system with folding tabs. The middle horizontal rows were omitted because they didn't really do anything other than add weight. We are not a manufacturer of ultra-light stuff, but even we do not like unnecessary weight. The two vertical fastening straps leave an approx. 9 cm wide gap, so you can carry items such as axes, fishing sticks, etc. behind the pouch. Optimal attachment requires a width of four channels and a height of six (min. five) rows of PALS webbing. The compression straps on the side of the backpack, when put on, will prevent any movement of the backpack and its contents. The 6-litre side bag fits all our Jääkäri backpacks. For backpacks with less than six rows of PALS webbing on the sides, the bottom of the bag "hangs". You can have this absorbed by the compression straps on the sides, or you can choose to attach the pouch one step higher to the side of the backpack. Examples of use With an eight-liter capacity, this is clearly a larger side bag, which is perhaps best used on large and high backpacks of 60-100+ liters. This backpack is designed to carry extremely heavy loads, just as its military predecessors have been since the early 1980s. With the roll top at the top, the zipper at the bottom and a drawstring distributor on the inside, you can use the main pocket in any way you want. By opening the distributor, the main pocket turns into a huge hollow space, allowing you to pack very large and long items. The zipper at the bottom provides quick access to all the gear you need most during the day, while the roll top provides weatherproof protection for most of your gear. The lower zippered compartment features elastic compression straps on the inside and four small mesh pockets to organize your gear. MILITARY GRADE MATERIALS Most of the materials we use for our commercial production are the same ones we use in equipment for the Finnish Armed Forces and other defense and security customers. The tires and edge tape we use are, again according to the FDF specifications, strong polyester bands in different widths and thicknesses for different applications. Our green and M05 camouflage materials and accessories meet the strict FDF specifications for NIR reflection levels as they should be, as the same materials are used in official military equipment. Modularity With PALS straps on the lap belt, sides, lid and bottom of the backpack, you can attach extra pockets and equipment. Not only for pouches, the PALS band can also be used for attaching utility straps, shock cord, carbine hooks etc. The lap belt can be removed from the frame for use as a stand-alone equipment belt. With suitable bags attached to them, you can use them instead of or in combination with a small day pack. HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE CARRYING SYSTEM When carrying heavy backpacks over long distances, it is extremely important that your backpack fits just right. The length adjustable lap belt and shoulder belt can be moved both up and down the frame to be suitable for users with a length of 160-200 cm. The external LJK tubular aluminium frame ensures that the backpack does not hang and transfers the weight of the backpack to your hips, even when loaded with heavy and cumbersome load. The function and idea of that now long-lost design was brought back as the Hikimaja, our smallest, simplest sauna tent. The word "hikimaja" is Finnish for (about) "sweat cottage", this is a very simplistic sauna tent built around the idea of making it as compact, simple and portable as possible. The Hikimaja is built around a very simple geometry - it's a box and that's all. Four corner poles keep the tent upright, this design eliminates the need for a center bar and reduces the number of accessories to just four corner poles and four pegs. The corner poles are inserted into the sleeves on the outside of the tent, making the interior slightly less crowded. The materials are fire retardant for safety, but not fire proof, so sparks and flames will burn holes in them, so be careful. The interior is large enough for a double sofa and the stove. The stove is at the bottom of the wall, the sofa against the opposite upper wall. The entrance is a simple zipper over the middle of the front wall, zipper - entry - zipper. The tent, poles and poles can be neatly stored in a carrier bag for transport. A shoulder strap makes it easy to wear, so you have your hands free for heaters or other accessories. INSTRUCTIONS - READ BEFORE USE! We recommend two to four people to set up the Hikimaja. You need a hammer or similar tool to smash the poles into the ground. Find a suitable flat spot about 3.5 x 3.5 m, beware of dangers: Dry grass and undergrowth, trees and branches (fire hazard). Uneven surface (heater or users may stumble and fall). Set one or two opposite angles at the same time: Hammer a stick about in the ground. 150 cm from the corner. Attach the corner rope to the pole with a reliable knot. Repeat until all corners are in place and each shaving line is pinned to the ground. Install the telescopic center pole, use the pen to adjust it for the correct height and tension. Inspect the tent, correct if necessary by adjusting the poles, poles and ropes. Install heater and bench. Do not heat the Hikimaja above 75 °C, extreme overheating can damage the tent and is unnecessary - it is steam that makes the sauna pleasant, not hot air. Enjoy (carefully)! WARNINGS - READ FOR USE! This sauna tent is designed to be heated with the Savotta wood stove and stone rack. If used incorrectly, the heated heater can cause numerous hazards and bodily injury: Savotta sauna tents are not designed for long-term idling and must be disassembled, cleaned, dried and stored indoors between use. Sunlight will damage the substances over time. By keeping a tent upright for several months, it is damaged and any damage caused by this type of abuse is not covered by our warranty. To prevent tent damage from falling sparks, the top of the chimney should protrude 100 cm above the chimney opening. We recommend burning hardwood to minimize the risk of sparks. Although the substances are fire retardant and self-extinguishing, they are not fire-safe - sparks and flames damage and burn holes in the fabric. Heater heated tents will in normal use incur some burnt holes due to sparks that touch the fabric. This is normal wear and tear and easy to repair if necessary. Our warranty does not cover fire damage due to normal or incorrect use. Use only stones intended for sauna use. Incorrect stones can burst when heated and cause injury due to flying shrapnel. Sparks and heat from the stove can set fire to flammable material nearby, easily remove combustible material in and near the tent before use. Always keep a generous bucket of water or a fire extinguisher within seconds of the tent if the heater is hot, be prepared to extinguish any fire! The stove and stones are extremely hot when heated and can cause injury when touched.

LJK MODULAR A modular, heavy-duty backpack with external frame, designed for the Finnish Armed Forces in 2008. Capacity approx. 80 l. The modular LJK is designed to meet the needs of the armed forces for a modern military backpack. The characteristics and details are well thought out according to the needs of the 21st century without compromising durability and reliability in extremely heavy military use. The backpack can be customized to your needs with separate pockets and numerous attachment points. There's not much left of the old LJK backpack, except for the name, external frame design and a construction that can withstand pretty much anything. The compartments and structure of the entire backpack have been completely redesigned. The end result is more practical than before and considerably more versatile. The modular LJK has also proved to be a functional and reliable carrier when used by the Finnish armed forces and the Finnish border guard. A traditional backpack with external frame is at its best with a heavy load, but is also suitable for lighter trips. The external tube frame ensures air circulation between the pocket itself and the user's back, significantly reducing the heat load. Although anatomical backpacks have taken over some grass in the backpack market, there are still situations where nothing is better than an external frame backpack. Compartments The upper compartment of the bag (dimensions about 50 x 35 x 25 cm) is closed by attaching the opening of the drawstring, which is secured with a waterproof protective collar that also allows overpackaging. The opening is first covered with a attached straps and is then covered with a generous flap that is secured with buckle closures. The straps are long enough to wear, for example, a sleeping bag or mat under the flap. In addition to the buckles on the straps, there are spare metal buckles under the valve in the event of a worst case scenario. The top and lower compartments of the bag are separated by an intermediate shot that can open, allowing the whole bag to be changed to one large compartment if desired. In the upper compartment there is a mesh bag for small items. The pouch can also contain a wide hydration bladder and on each top corner of the backpack are exhausts for the hoses. The bottom compartment of the bag (dimensions approximately 35 x 35 x 25 cm) is closed with a two-way zipper that is secured with two buckles. The buckles should always be fastened because they take away some of the weight and strain the zippers. The side pockets (dimensions approximately 30 x 17 x 11 cm) open from the top with long zippers. The side compartments are removable and can be attached to the sides or back of the backpack at the necessary height. They can also be completely omitted if desired. The bags are attached to the backpack with MOLLE girders used in military equipment. It is a very simple, durable and reliable attachment method. OTHER ANCHORAGES There is a generous number of fastening loops on top of the valve and in the main compartment. This makes it possible to secure even large loads (such as the beloved Sissi tent) on or under the valve by means of detachable tires. The loops on the inside of the flap are perfect for attaching a sleeping mat. Especially a military-style tent mattress can be attached to this by means of the elastic bands. There are several belt loops on the sides and back of the backpack that can be attached to various essentials with detachable straps. The backpack comes with four two-piece buckles that can be moved freely between the backpack's attachment points. By default, they are used to strengthen the attachment of the side boxes. There is a lot of MOLLE webbing on top of the flap, on the sides, back and bottom of the bag and in the lower compartment for attaching additional pockets. You can also easily tie supplies to the girth using detachable straps. The lower corners of the bag have open pockets to attach long devices, e.g. an axe handle, to the side of the backpack. The lower corners of the shoulder straps have loops that serve as attachment points for small objects, such as water bottles. SUPPORT SYSTEM The frame of the support system is the strong aluminium tube frame of the LJK model. Unlike civilian backpacks, it has no upper bend because the bend easily sits in the head's way when it is necessary to move on rough terrain. Furthermore, the frame is reinforced with additional support blocks. The shoulder straps and waistband are firmly padded and anatomically shaped. In addition, the lower back is supported by a separate thick pillow. The buckle of the hip belt is a special plastic buckle that can be pulled in both directions and can be opened by pressing on the middle. Border controls A classic from 1989, known in Finnish as the Rajapartio, originally designed for the Finnish border guard. An internal tubular aluminium frame helps to carry unwieldy and heavy loads. What is special is that the Rajapartio backpack has attachment points for a rifle on the outside. Originally designed to carry an assault rifle, the attachment points can also be used very well to attach, for example, a camera tripod or other long special supplies. Compartments The upper main compartment (dimensions approximately 45 x 35 x 22 cm) is closed by attaching the opening of the drawstring, which is secured with a waterproof protective collar that also allows overpackaging. The opening is covered with a large flap that is secured with straps. The generous length of the straps offers plenty of space under the flap to overpack. In the flap is a large, open pouch. When the valve is closed, the opening of the bag is facing upwards and closes so that the contents do not fall. Against the back in the bag is a pocket the size of the entire back for the supporting frame of the backpack. The compartment is also ideal for carrying, for example, a water bag or other flat stuff. This is an extremely simple and very durable backpack, which is suitable for everyday use as well as for use in the forest. From the very beginning, the 202 was designed to be as light and simple as possible, so it could be packed easily and tightly. The 202 can be carried inside a bigger backpack from where it can be taken out to be used on shorter trips. The original idea for the use was that longer walks and trips were taken with the LJK backpack and the 202 was taken out and packed with the necessary supplies for shorter scouting etc. trips.

COMPARTMENTS

The main compartment of the Backpack (dimensions about 42 x 27 x 15 cm) is closed with a two-way zipper. The inside is without any additional compartments so even special and large items can fit in. Packing smartly is wise; for instance, folding one’s change of clothes and putting them against the back. This way, the Backpack would function as a back cushion. The outer pocket (measures about 15 x 23 x 5 cm) is closed with a zipper. It is convenient for smaller items which might be needed quickly.

This simple kit allows you to create different markers by combining the different patches or using them as is. The kit includes two 25 x 25 mm squares, two 20 x 50 mm lines and a 50 x 50 mm square. This allows you to make a number of different combinations, or just highlight a lot of different things with separate patches. They are made of fairly high-quality photoluminescent material, the same material that we have been using for decades in various military applications. This stuff is quite effective and lasts a very long time. We examined 10+ year old material we had in stock and it performed with around 90% the same efficiency as its brand new counterpart. Since the material itself has a very long lifespan, we decided not to rely solely on lamination/gluing to hold the photoluminescent material to the hook band. These are therefore also sewn for the longest possible lifespan. This significantly increases the cost of production, but now we can be sure that these will not delaminate after a few winter/summer use cycles. KEY FEATURES
