DETAILED DESCRIPTION
The HAWU is a highly customizable security system designed for long-term use. It is perfect for the most demanding environments, also for military use all year round. Designed for versatility and adaptability, the HAWU is highly flexible when it comes to finding a suitable place to set up. This requires very few accessories. The core of its flexibility are the zippers that connect the tent parts together and allow them to be distributed and placed around tree trunks.
The door is designed so that you step into the tent instead of crawling under a low side entrance. A freely hanging inner wall prevents the warm air from escaping from the tent when the zippered door is opened. A useful function if someone has to keep watch at the same time and look at the lit heater.
There is a steel oven tube opening with a hinged lid between the door and the top of the front part. This design provides safety when using an oven for heating. If no oven is used, the folding cover closes the connection from the outside.
The side zippers provide a quick way out, especially during military operations or in case of emergency. The zippers and their rolled-up outer cover allow for a very fast emergency exit - open the zipper a little from top to bottom and just push yourself through!
The top of the tent is made of excess fabric that can be used to cover the top when a center stick is used. The tip can be left completely open or left open only on one side, depending on the wind direction, which regulates the ventilation and evaporation of moisture, depending on the conditions. When using an oven, it is advisable to keep the tip open so that the warm air can drain moisture.
HAWU tents are standard made of a naturally fire retardant and breathable fabric that has been treated against mold resistance. The fibers in the fabric swell when wet to ensure effective sealing against rain without the need for waterproof and poorly breathable coatings. For large orders, such as procurement by the military and government agencies, we can, and we have done so in the past, make the HAWU from other substances specified by the customer. CONSTRUCTION POSSIBILITIES
The split design offers flexibility in both transport and assembly. Thanks to the numerous mounting methods, the HAWU can be set up practically anywhere, which minimizes the time and effort required to find the perfect location. Around a tree: The halves can be mounted around a tree trunk, so there is no need to wear or manufacture separate center posts on site. Another advantage of this method is camouflage, where the treetops provide excellent camouflage for aerial exploration. Hanging: Instead of using a central support, trunk or pole, the HAWU can be hung on a rope between two trees. This creates space in the tent for more people or to set up equipment for maintenance and work. With a central pole: the usual old-fashioned way also works with the HAWU. For this we offer specially made telescopic mid-sticks. Side parts: The two halves of the HAWU can be used separately as smaller open protective sails. This allows a larger team to split up and take half the tent with them.
Due to the smart design of the corner sheath lines, no corner poles are needed. Just cut the lines or tie them around a rock or tree and pull on the quick belt adjusters to adjust the tension, and you're done. The lack of corner bars also means that there are far fewer separate components to maintain and move, which is a big advantage in suboptimal environments and under stress. As such, herrings are not strictly necessary, but are recommended. Although the shaving lines can be attached to the terrain and vegetation, this is not always possible. The corners of the hem should also be attached to the floor for a safe seal. The HAWU tent does not contain pegs, but we offer these as a separate accessory.
The upper loops and the carabiner mounting system that secures the top of the tent make it possible to set up the HAWU with a standard center pole to attach a tree or hang it at the top. THE HAWU STORY The origins of Hawu tents go back to 1993 when Pasi Ylirisku, the current CEO of Hawu Pro Oy, and his staff began developing a new tent design. For more than two decades, they have tested and improved the Hawu tent to perfection with great attention to detail. In 2016, Finn-Savotta Oy and Hawu Pro Oy signed a cooperation agreement. The design of the Hawu tent was completed in collaboration with Savotta's designers and Hawu's original mass production design and development team. The first batch, which was completed in autumn 2017 and put up for sale.

Savotta Rajapartio / Border Patrol Backpack

Border controls A classic from 1989, known in Finnish as the Rajapartio, originally designed for the Finnish border guard. An internal tubular aluminium frame helps to carry unwieldy and heavy loads. What is special is that the Rajapartio backpack has attachment points for a rifle on the outside. Originally designed to carry an assault rifle, the attachment points can also be used very well to attach, for example, a camera tripod or other long special supplies. Compartments The upper main compartment (dimensions approximately 45 x 35 x 22 cm) is closed by attaching the opening of the drawstring, which is secured with a waterproof protective collar that also allows overpackaging. The opening is covered with a large flap that is secured with straps. The generous length of the straps offers plenty of space under the flap to overpack. In the flap is a large, open pouch. When the valve is closed, the opening of the bag is facing upwards and closes so that the contents do not fall. Against the back in the bag is a pocket the size of the entire back for the supporting frame of the backpack. The compartment is also ideal for carrying, for example, a water bag or other flat stuff. The lower compartment of the bag (dimensions about 15 x 35 x 20 cm) is closed with a two-way zipper and fastened with the same straps used to close the flap of the backpack itself. The side compartments (dimensions approximately 30 x 15 x 6 cm) are sealed with waterproof protective collars and covered with flaps that can be secured with straps. The side pocket on the left also has a vertical zipper which makes the contents of the box quickly accessible. OTHER ANCHORAGES On the flap at the back of the backpack and at the bottom of the bag you will find fastening loops to carry a rifle. The loops are also equally suitable for carrying other exceptionally long devices. The load is secured by tightening a belt that encloses the entire backpack. There are attachment points for detachable straps on top of the flap. Large essentials that otherwise do not fit in the backpack can be fastened on top of the flap. The side compartment on the right is tunnel-shaped and there is a mounting point above for a detachable belt. For example, it can easily hold an axe. SUPPORT SYSTEM The wide, anatomically shaped, sturdy shoulder straps and the well-padded hip belt ensure supported and comfortable wearing. The buckle of the hip belt can be detached very quickly with one hand. A very valuable function in a possible emergency. With the support handle on the top, the backpack is also easy to carry by hand. The back is reinforced with an internal, square tube frame made of DUR aluminum. This lightweight frame keeps the backpack upright and is comfortable to carry, even with a slightly heavier load. The support frame can also be removed from the backpack if desired. The function and idea of that now long-lost design was brought back as the Hikimaja, our smallest, simplest sauna tent. The word "hikimaja" is Finnish for (about) "sweat cottage", this is a very simplistic sauna tent built around the idea of making it as compact, simple and portable as possible. The Hikimaja is built around a very simple geometry - it's a box and that's all. Four corner poles keep the tent upright, this design eliminates the need for a center bar and reduces the number of accessories to just four corner poles and four pegs. The corner poles are inserted into the sleeves on the outside of the tent, making the interior slightly less crowded. The materials are fire retardant for safety, but not fire proof, so sparks and flames will burn holes in them, so be careful. The interior is large enough for a double sofa and the stove. The stove is at the bottom of the wall, the sofa against the opposite upper wall. The entrance is a simple zipper over the middle of the front wall, zipper - entry - zipper. The tent, poles and poles can be neatly stored in a carrier bag for transport. A shoulder strap makes it easy to wear, so you have your hands free for heaters or other accessories. INSTRUCTIONS - READ BEFORE USE! We recommend two to four people to set up the Hikimaja. You need a hammer or similar tool to smash the poles into the ground. Find a suitable flat spot about 3.5 x 3.5 m, beware of dangers: Dry grass and undergrowth, trees and branches (fire hazard). Uneven surface (heater or users may stumble and fall). Unseed and insert the canes into the sleeves. Spread out the tent cloth with sticks that are placed approximately in the desired spot. Set one or two opposite angles at the same time: Hammer a stick about in the ground. 150 cm from the corner. Attach the corner rope to the pole with a reliable knot. Repeat until all corners are in place and each shaving line is pinned to the ground. Install the telescopic center pole, use the pen to adjust it for the correct height and tension. Inspect the tent, correct if necessary by adjusting the poles, poles and ropes. Install heater and bench. Do not heat the Hikimaja above 75 °C, extreme overheating can damage the tent and is unnecessary - it is steam that makes the sauna pleasant, not hot air. Enjoy (carefully)! WARNINGS - READ FOR USE! This sauna tent is designed to be heated with the Savotta wood stove and stone rack. If used incorrectly, the heated heater can cause numerous hazards and bodily injury: Savotta sauna tents are not designed for long-term idling and must be disassembled, cleaned, dried and stored indoors between use. Sunlight will damage the substances over time. By keeping a tent upright for several months, it is damaged and any damage caused by this type of abuse is not covered by our warranty. To prevent tent damage from falling sparks, the top of the chimney should protrude 100 cm above the chimney opening. We recommend burning hardwood to minimize the risk of sparks. Although the substances are fire retardant and self-extinguishing, they are not fire-safe - sparks and flames damage and burn holes in the fabric. Heater heated tents will in normal use incur some burnt holes due to sparks that touch the fabric. This is normal wear and tear and easy to repair if necessary. Our warranty does not cover fire damage due to normal or incorrect use. Use only stones intended for sauna use. Incorrect stones can burst when heated and cause injury due to flying shrapnel. Sparks and heat from the stove can set fire to flammable material nearby, easily remove combustible material in and near the tent before use. Always keep a generous bucket of water or a fire extinguisher within seconds of the tent if the heater is hot, be prepared to extinguish any fire! The stove and stones are extremely hot when heated and can cause injury when touched.

This backpack is designed to carry extremely heavy loads, just as its military predecessors have been since the early 1980s. With the roll top at the top, the zipper at the bottom and a drawstring distributor on the inside, you can use the main pocket in any way you want. By opening the distributor, the main pocket turns into a huge hollow space, allowing you to pack very large and long items. The zipper at the bottom provides quick access to all the gear you need most during the day, while the roll top provides weatherproof protection for most of your gear. The lower zippered compartment features elastic compression straps on the inside and four small mesh pockets to organize your gear. A zippered pocket on the inside of the lid provides secure storage for your wallet, keys, travel documents and phone. The roll closure, the floating lid and the compression straps on the side offer a wide range of adaptability to the volume of the backpack. Fasten it tightly or loosen it, depending on the load carried. The compression straps ensure that additional equipment can be attached to the outside of the backpack if necessary. External side pockets at the bottom can be used to provide tools, tripods etc. Secure to the sides of the backpack. A hydration compartment is attached to the inner back wall. Tube ports on both sides allow you to direct your hydration bladder tube from the left or right, while keeping the other port free for other uses, such as antennas or cables. MILITARY GRADE MATERIALS Most of the materials we use for our commercial production are the same ones we use in equipment for the Finnish Armed Forces and other defense and security customers. Our most commonly used fabric in load carriers is extremely wear-resistant 1000D Cordura, according to FDF specifications, with polyurethane coating on the inside. The tires and edge tape we use are, again according to the FDF specifications, strong polyester bands in different widths and thicknesses for different applications. Our green and M05 camouflage materials and accessories meet the strict FDF specifications for NIR reflection levels as they should be, as the same materials are used in official military equipment. Modularity With PALS straps on the lap belt, sides, lid and bottom of the backpack, you can attach extra pockets and equipment. This system offers numerous options to customize the package to your specific needs. Not only for pouches, the PALS band can also be used for attaching utility straps, shock cord, carbine hooks etc. The lap belt can be removed from the frame for use as a stand-alone equipment belt. With suitable bags attached to them, you can use them instead of or in combination with a small day pack. HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE CARRYING SYSTEM When carrying heavy backpacks over long distances, it is extremely important that your backpack fits just right. The length adjustable lap belt and shoulder belt can be moved both up and down the frame to be suitable for users with a length of 160-200 cm. The external LJK tubular aluminium frame ensures that the backpack does not hang and transfers the weight of the backpack to your hips, even when loaded with heavy and cumbersome load. Both the shoulder harness and the lap belt are generously filled with thermoformed foam filling with closed cells. The shoulder harness is S-shaped and has a detachable chest strap. The forward pull setting on the lap belt is easy to put on even under load. The buckle on the side provides quick and easy opening when needed. The high LJK frame offers good lifting possibilities. Load lifts are mounted between the top of the frame and the shoulder belt. The Savotta Jääkäri XL is the replacement for the Savotta LJK which goes out of the range.

Savotta Side pouch 8L

Really nothing special, but exactly what you need for a side pocket on your backpack. The zipper is covered for extra water repellency and protection against wear and dirt. The vertical webbings on the front keep the compression straps of your backpack neatly in place over the pouch, so that they can also compress the pouch well. These can also be used as attachment points for bungee cords, carabiners, and things like that. A 25 mm webbing loop and D-ring on the top of the rear inner wall make it possible to secure small and important items, the flat rear compartment provides rudimentary organization for smaller items. The bottom and the lower half of the sides are lined with 210D polyamide for extra wear resistance. A through-through opening allows for the drainage of water that could seep into the bag. The back is equipped with our standard PALS fastening web belt system with folding tabs. The middle horizontal rows were omitted because they didn't really do anything other than add weight. We are not a manufacturer of ultra-light stuff, but even we do not like unnecessary weight. The two vertical fastening straps leave an approx. 9 cm wide gap, so you can carry items such as axes, fishing sticks, etc. behind the pouch. Optimal attachment requires a width of four channels and a height of six (min. five) rows of PALS webbing. The compression straps on the side of the backpack, when put on, will prevent any movement of the backpack and its contents. The 6-litre side bag fits all our Jääkäri backpacks. For backpacks with less than six rows of PALS webbing on the sides, the bottom of the bag "hangs". You can have this absorbed by the compression straps on the sides, or you can choose to attach the pouch one step higher to the side of the backpack. Examples of use With an eight-liter capacity, this is clearly a larger side bag, which is perhaps best used on large and high backpacks of 60-100+ liters. A classic retro backpack for a hunter; the design has remained unchanged since the 1950s. After making something that works once, why fix the design if it is not broken! Just as great for hunting, camping and the city today as it was 60 years ago.

Due to its size, the 323 saddle sack is ideal for one or two day hunting trips: the backpack holds the necessary overnight equipment, provisions and other useful gadgets and tools comfortably. Once upon a time when men were made of steel and women as tough as nails, you could survive for weeks just with the saddle sack (or months, if you ask remote patrollers who served in wars), sleeping in the wilderness and eating what nature has to offer. Although the needs of a modern camper are different, a good backpack design is still a good backpack design. The traditional saddle sack is as fine a carrying device as it ever was, and it has the sort of a romantic retro vibe that you just cannot find in contemporary backpacks.

COMPARTMENTS

The main compartment of the bag (dimensions approximately 45 x 35 x 25 cm) is closed by tightening the opening which is covered with a flap that can be secured with leather straps. The straps are long enough to attach, for example, a rolled sleeping mat or blanket under the flap. If necessary, additional detachable straps can be used to lengthen the straps. The size of the main compartment of the backpack is large enough to fit even a heavy winter sleeping bag inside. The side pockets (dimensions approximately 33 x 10 x 6 cm) are closed with fitted flaps with good coverage and secured with leather straps. The side pockets are ideal for packing large Thermos flasks and other cumbersome, long supplies. The back pocket (dimensions approximately 20 x 30 x 6 cm) is closed with a flap equipped with two leather straps. You can pack plenty of small supplies into the generously sized outer pocket for quick and easy Access.

OTHER ATTACHMENT POINTS

There are attachment loops on the sides of the opening for detachable straps. By using straps, it is possible to attach long rolls, such as a blanket or a sleeping mat, securely on top of the bag. Ensure sturdy attachment by closing the flap of the bag over the roll.

CARRYING SYSTEM

A special feature of the saddle sack is its steel pipe frame which enables steady and comfortable carrying. The sturdy frame holds the bag firmly in shape and the horizontal leather strap stretched across the lower part of the frame sits comfortably against your lower back, keeping the bag itself from touching your back. The shoulder straps are wide leather straps, the length of which can be adjusted with buckles. Because of the steel pipe frame, it is much more comfortable to carry the saddle sack than a frameless backpack, particularly over long distances and with a heavy load.
