LJK MODULAR A modular, heavy-duty backpack with external frame, designed for the Finnish Armed Forces in 2008. Capacity approx. 80 l. The modular LJK is designed to meet the needs of the armed forces for a modern military backpack. The characteristics and details are well thought out according to the needs of the 21st century without compromising durability and reliability in extremely heavy military use. The backpack can be customized to your needs with separate pockets and numerous attachment points. There's not much left of the old LJK backpack, except for the name, external frame design and a construction that can withstand pretty much anything. The compartments and structure of the entire backpack have been completely redesigned. The end result is more practical than before and considerably more versatile. The modular LJK has also proved to be a functional and reliable carrier when used by the Finnish armed forces and the Finnish border guard. A traditional backpack with external frame is at its best with a heavy load, but is also suitable for lighter trips. The external tube frame ensures air circulation between the pocket itself and the user's back, significantly reducing the heat load. Although anatomical backpacks have taken over some grass in the backpack market, there are still situations where nothing is better than an external frame backpack. Compartments The upper compartment of the bag (dimensions about 50 x 35 x 25 cm) is closed by attaching the opening of the drawstring, which is secured with a waterproof protective collar that also allows overpackaging. The opening is first covered with a attached straps and is then covered with a generous flap that is secured with buckle closures. The straps are long enough to wear, for example, a sleeping bag or mat under the flap. In addition to the buckles on the straps, there are spare metal buckles under the valve in the event of a worst case scenario. The top and lower compartments of the bag are separated by an intermediate shot that can open, allowing the whole bag to be changed to one large compartment if desired. In the upper compartment there is a mesh bag for small items. The pouch can also contain a wide hydration bladder and on each top corner of the backpack are exhausts for the hoses. The bottom compartment of the bag (dimensions approximately 35 x 35 x 25 cm) is closed with a two-way zipper that is secured with two buckles. The buckles should always be fastened because they take away some of the weight and strain the zippers. The side pockets (dimensions approximately 30 x 17 x 11 cm) open from the top with long zippers. The side compartments are removable and can be attached to the sides or back of the backpack at the necessary height. They can also be completely omitted if desired. The bags are attached to the backpack with MOLLE girders used in military equipment. It is a very simple, durable and reliable attachment method. OTHER ANCHORAGES There is a generous number of fastening loops on top of the valve and in the main compartment. This makes it possible to secure even large loads (such as the beloved Sissi tent) on or under the valve by means of detachable tires. The loops on the inside of the flap are perfect for attaching a sleeping mat. Especially a military-style tent mattress can be attached to this by means of the elastic bands. There are several belt loops on the sides and back of the backpack that can be attached to various essentials with detachable straps. The backpack comes with four two-piece buckles that can be moved freely between the backpack's attachment points. By default, they are used to strengthen the attachment of the side boxes. There is a lot of MOLLE webbing on top of the flap, on the sides, back and bottom of the bag and in the lower compartment for attaching additional pockets. You can also easily tie supplies to the girth using detachable straps. The lower corners of the bag have open pockets to attach long devices, e.g. an axe handle, to the side of the backpack. The lower corners of the shoulder straps have loops that serve as attachment points for small objects, such as water bottles. SUPPORT SYSTEM The frame of the support system is the strong aluminium tube frame of the LJK model. Unlike civilian backpacks, it has no upper bend because the bend easily sits in the head's way when it is necessary to move on rough terrain. Furthermore, the frame is reinforced with additional support blocks. The shoulder straps and waistband are firmly padded and anatomically shaped. In addition, the lower back is supported by a separate thick pillow. The buckle of the hip belt is a special plastic buckle that can be pulled in both directions and can be opened by pressing on the middle. The nodded chest strap provides extra comfort and support when wearing. The stepless adjustable (in length and width) supporting support support system and hip belt of the backpack can be adapted to users of all different heights and sizes. It is possible to adjust the center of gravity of the shoulder straps even while walking by tightening and loosening the straps attached to the top of the frame. The centre of gravity of the backpack itself between the shoulders and the hips is adjusted by loosening and tightening the shoulder straps and hip belt. The Jääkäri XL is an improved model of the modular LJK parachutist backpack, originally designed for the Finnish armed forces. The PALS attachment system provides great scalability to the outside when you need it. Fully height-adjustable and generously padded thermoformed shoulder harness and lap belt combined with a robust external tubular aluminium frame ensure that the Jääkäri XL can carry extremely heavy loads comfortably. KEY FEATURES Content 70 l Height adjustable portable system Padded shoulder straps with chest strap Padded detachable hip strap Main compartment with roll top and floating lid Zipper pocket on the inside of the lid Multiple small compartments to store your belongings Internal hydration compartment (e.g. Source WLPS 3L) Compression straps on the side External tubular aluminium frame PALS compatible for attaching extra bags 5-year warranty on material and craftsmanship Finnish Key Flag product TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Weight: 3.7 kg Dimensions: 79 x 32 x 23 cm (H x B x D) Main material: 1000D Cordura (100% polyamide) Band: 100% polyester Frame: aluminium tubes DETAILED DESCRIPTION The support system is based on the venerable LJK parachutist suit frame, an external frame made of aluminum tubes, and offers a very wide height adjustment range for a perfect fit. This backpack is designed to carry extremely heavy loads, just as its military predecessors have been since the early 1980s. With the roll top at the top, the zipper at the bottom and a drawstring distributor on the inside, you can use the main pocket in any way you want. By opening the distributor, the main pocket turns into a huge hollow space, allowing you to pack very large and long items. The zipper at the bottom provides quick access to all the gear you need most during the day, while the roll top provides weatherproof protection for most of your gear. The lower zippered compartment features elastic compression straps on the inside and four small mesh pockets to organize your gear. A zippered pocket on the inside of the lid provides secure storage for your wallet, keys, travel documents and phone. The roll closure, the floating lid and the compression straps on the side offer a wide range of adaptability to the volume of the backpack. Fasten it tightly or loosen it, depending on the load carried. The compression straps ensure that additional equipment can be attached to the outside of the backpack if necessary. External side pockets at the bottom can be used to provide tools, tripods etc. Secure to the sides of the backpack. A hydration compartment is attached to the inner back wall. Tube ports on both sides allow you to direct your hydration bladder tube from the left or right, while keeping the other port free for other uses, such as antennas or cables. MILITARY GRADE MATERIALS Most of the materials we use for our commercial production are the same ones we use in equipment for the Finnish Armed Forces and other defense and security customers. Our most commonly used fabric in load carriers is extremely wear-resistant 1000D Cordura, according to FDF specifications, with polyurethane coating on the inside. The tires and edge tape we use are, again according to the FDF specifications, strong polyester bands in different widths and thicknesses for different applications. Our green and M05 camouflage materials and accessories meet the strict FDF specifications for NIR reflection levels as they should be, as the same materials are used in official military equipment. Modularity With PALS straps on the lap belt, sides, lid and bottom of the backpack, you can attach extra pockets and equipment. This system offers numerous options to customize the package to your specific needs. Not only for pouches, the PALS band can also be used for attaching utility straps, shock cord, carbine hooks etc. The lap belt can be removed from the frame for use as a stand-alone equipment belt. With suitable bags attached to them, you can use them instead of or in combination with a small day pack. HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE CARRYING SYSTEM When carrying heavy backpacks over long distances, it is extremely important that your backpack fits just right. The length adjustable lap belt and shoulder belt can be moved both up and down the frame to be suitable for users with a length of 160-200 cm. The external LJK tubular aluminium frame ensures that the backpack does not hang and transfers the weight of the backpack to your hips, even when loaded with heavy and cumbersome load. Both the shoulder harness and the lap belt are generously filled with thermoformed foam filling with closed cells. The shoulder harness is S-shaped and has a detachable chest strap. The forward pull setting on the lap belt is easy to put on even under load. The buckle on the side provides quick and easy opening when needed. The high LJK frame offers good lifting possibilities. Load lifts are mounted between the top of the frame and the shoulder belt. The Savotta Jääkäri XL is the replacement for the Savotta LJK which goes out of the range.

    Savotta LJK

LJK This heavy backpack with external frame was originally designed for paratroopers of the Finnish army in the early 1980s. Capacity approx. 80 l. This backpack, designed for heavy military use, can be used more heavily than most users, such as a free fall of an aircraft. Given its properties, LJK is also suitable for average users and it is an excellent choice for those looking for a lifetime collaboration. The LJK backpack was launched in 1985. Originally designed for military use, the backpack was also warmly welcomed by civilian users. The special features of the model are a frame without the upper curve, which makes moving easier because it does not get in the way of the head. There are no pockets on the sides of the backpack in the lower section, which makes cross-country skiing with the backpack more comfortable. The LJK backpack is still used in the Finnish Armed Forces and is just as popular with recreational users. A traditional backpack with external frame is at its best with a heavy load, but is also suitable for lighter trips. The external tube frame ensures air circulation between the user's pocket and back, significantly reducing the heat load. Although anatomical backpacks have taken over some grass in the backpack market, there are still situations where nothing is better than an external frame backpack. Compartments The upper compartment of the bag (dimensions about 45 x 40 x 20 cm) is closed by attaching the opening of the drawstring, which is secured with a waterproof protective collar that also allows overpackaging. The opening is covered with a generous flap that is secured with straps. The straps are long enough to wear, for example, a sleeping bag or mat under the flap. If necessary, the straps can be easily extended with the included detachable straps. The top and lower pockets of the bag are separated by a built-in distributor. The valve of the upper compartment has a flat compartment for small objects (dimensions about 25 x 45 cm), which are also suitable for larger objects that need to be easily accessible. The exterior of the upper compartment is equipped with a flat card pocket with zipper (dimensions approximately 30 x 30 cm). The lower compartment of the bag (dimensions about 35 x 35 x 20 cm) opens on both vertical sides with a zipper. The zippers are protected with a button closure. The flaps should always be gently fastened, as they take away some of the weight and strain the zippers. The side pockets (dimensions approximately 40 x 10 x 7 cm) are closed by attracting the waterproof protective collar, which is covered with a flap that can be secured with straps. The left side pocket is divided into two compartments with a built-in distributor. The lower compartment is accessible via the zipper on the side. In the lower back there is a large outer compartment (dimensions approximately 32 x 25 x 10 cm) that is closed by tightening the protective collar. The bag is covered with a valve that is fastened with two straps. This bag is ideal for packing items that should be easily accessible during the walk, such as a camping stove and food. Axes or other long, narrow stocks can be transported behind the tunnel-shaped side pockets. The fasteners with straps above the side compartments ensure the attachment of the supplies. The lower corners of the shoulder straps have loops that serve as attachment points for small objects, such as water bottles. SUPPORT SYSTEM The frame of the support system is the strong aluminium tube frame of the LJK model. Unlike civilian backpacks, LJK does not have an upper bend because the bend easily sits in the head when it is necessary to move on rough terrain. Furthermore, the frame of LJK has been reinforced with additional support blocks. The shoulder straps and waistband are firmly padded and anatomically shaped. The buckle of the hip belt can be detached very quickly with one hand. It is a very valuable feature in a possible emergency. The nodded chest strap provides extra comfort and support when wearing. The stepless adjustable (length) support support system and lap belt of the backpack can be adapted to users of all different heights and sizes. It is possible to adjust the center of gravity of the shoulder straps even while walking by tightening and loosening the straps attached to the top of the frame. The centre of gravity of the backpack itself between the shoulders and the hips is adjusted by loosening and tightening the shoulder straps and hip belt. By opening the distributor, the main pocket is changed into a large hollow space. The zipper at the bottom provides quick access to the equipment you need most during the day, while the roll top ensures weatherproof protection for most of your gear. A zippered box in the lid provides secure storage for your wallet, keys, travel documents and phone. The roll closure, the floating lid and the compression straps on the side offer a wide range of adaptability to the volume of the backpack. Tie it tightly or loosen it, depending on the load transported. The compression straps ensure that additional equipment can be attached to the outside of the backpack if necessary. A hydration compartment is attached to the inner wall. A central hydration tube port allows you to guide your hydration bladder tube from behind your neck to both shoulders. With PALS straps on the lap belt, sides, lid and bottom of the backpack, you can attach extra pockets and equipment. This system offers numerous options for configuring the package to meet your specific needs. But not only for pouches, the PALS webbing strap can also be used to belts, shock cords, carbine hooks etc. To confirm. The lap belt can be attached to the backpack via PALS webbing. It can be moved up or down to adjust the back length of the backpack and can be removed from the frame for use as a stand-alone strap for equipment. With matching bags you can use them instead of or in combination with a small day pack. SUPPORT SYSTEM An internal tubular aluminum frame ensures that the backpack does not sag and transfers the weight of the backpack to your hips, even when loaded with heavy and bulky cargo. Both the shoulder harness and the lap belt are generously padded with thermoformed foam filling with closed cells. The shoulder harness is S-shaped and has a detachable chest strap. The adjustment of the back length is done by moving the lap belt up or down over the backpack using PALS bands. The forward pull rape adjustment is easy to secure, even under load. The buckle on the side provides quick and easy opening when needed. CONNECTION OF THE FINNISH BORDER GUARD In the late 1980s, Savotta designed a new patrol package for the Finnish Border Patrol, simply called "Rajapartio" - Border Patrol. This was the first package of Savotta with an internal aluminum tube frame, a very simple design that turned out to be very good. The Border Patrol package is still being used by the Finnish Border Patrol at the time of writing in 2019, a testament to how specially designed designs do not work. However, materials and manufacturing technologies are evolving, as are end-users' needs. The Jääkäri L is in our opinion a worthy successor to its ancestor.

Border controls A classic from 1989, known in Finnish as the Rajapartio, originally designed for the Finnish border guard. An internal tubular aluminium frame helps to carry unwieldy and heavy loads. What is special is that the Rajapartio backpack has attachment points for a rifle on the outside. Originally designed to carry an assault rifle, the attachment points can also be used very well to attach, for example, a camera tripod or other long special supplies. Compartments The upper main compartment (dimensions approximately 45 x 35 x 22 cm) is closed by attaching the opening of the drawstring, which is secured with a waterproof protective collar that also allows overpackaging. The opening is covered with a large flap that is secured with straps. The generous length of the straps offers plenty of space under the flap to overpack. In the flap is a large, open pouch. When the valve is closed, the opening of the bag is facing upwards and closes so that the contents do not fall. Against the back in the bag is a pocket the size of the entire back for the supporting frame of the backpack. The compartment is also ideal for carrying, for example, a water bag or other flat stuff. The lower compartment of the bag (dimensions about 15 x 35 x 20 cm) is closed with a two-way zipper and fastened with the same straps used to close the flap of the backpack itself. The side compartments (dimensions approximately 30 x 15 x 6 cm) are sealed with waterproof protective collars and covered with flaps that can be secured with straps. The side pocket on the left also has a vertical zipper which makes the contents of the box quickly accessible. OTHER ANCHORAGES On the flap at the back of the backpack and at the bottom of the bag you will find fastening loops to carry a rifle. The loops are also equally suitable for carrying other exceptionally long devices. The load is secured by tightening a belt that encloses the entire backpack. There are attachment points for detachable straps on top of the flap. Large essentials that otherwise do not fit in the backpack can be fastened on top of the flap. The side compartment on the right is tunnel-shaped and there is a mounting point above for a detachable belt. For example, it can easily hold an axe. SUPPORT SYSTEM The wide, anatomically shaped, sturdy shoulder straps and the well-padded hip belt ensure supported and comfortable wearing. The buckle of the hip belt can be detached very quickly with one hand. A very valuable function in a possible emergency. With the support handle on the top, the backpack is also easy to carry by hand. The back is reinforced with an internal, square tube frame made of DUR aluminum. This lightweight frame keeps the backpack upright and is comfortable to carry, even with a slightly heavier load. The support frame can also be removed from the backpack if desired. MMPS - Multi Mission Pack System Berghaus' latest invention in the field of backpacks is the MMPS system. Developed in consultation with experts from the field, the Vulcan and Crusader backpacks were developed along with a number of useful extensions. For example, the Multi Mission Pack System (or MMPS) offers great flexibility and choice. The system makes it possible to adapt your backpack to the wishes you have for your trip. For example, it is possible to put together a backpack from 10 to 120 liters! But there are also a number of useful accessories to connect with all models of the MMPS system, such as a hydration pack. To explain how the MMPS system works, we would like to give you an example of a number of possible combinations with this backpack! By default with this model you have:
    • a daypack of 20 liters (the 2 side pockets together)
    • a larger backpack of 80 liters
    • or a 100 liter backpack (2 side pockets + the backpack itself)
If you buy an MMPS Organiser Pocket, you suddenly have a handy side pocket where you can, for example, store your first aid equipment, navigation or camera and take it loose as a daypack. If you prefer more flexible storage space: choose the MMPS Large Side Pockets of 15 liters each, (can be combined into a daypack of 30 liters) or opt for extra standard MMPS Side Pockets of 10 liters each. These can be linked to this daypack. The MMPS system becomes completely flexible if you purchase an MMPS Centurio daypack of 30 or 45 liters. With 2 backpacks you already have a complete line that is suitable for every situation! For example: if you buy an MMPS Vulcan (80+20ltr) and a Centurio 45ltr, and you choose a set of MMPS Large Side Pockets of 15 liters each, then with 2 backpacks at once you have the following choices in terms of content:
    • 20 liter day backpack (the 2 side pockets)
    • 30 liter day backpack (the 2 Large side pockets combined)
    • 45 liter day backpack (Centurio 45 liters)
    • 65 liter backpack (the Centurio 45 + the side pockets of the Vulcan)
    • 70 liter backpack (the Centurio 45 + the 2 large side pockets)
    • 80 liter backpack (Vulcan)
    • 100 liter backpack (Vulcan + side pockets)
This just indicates how you can vary with content. Because the entire system is interchangeable, the combination possibilities are almost endless. So you have a choice for more or less content and can add various useful extra options. In short: choose the Berghaus MMPS system and you have a durable, comfortable, and practical backpack for every possible trip you can think of! Available in 4 sizes! Berghaus chooses to adapt the backpacks to the body length of the wearer, instead of offering an adjustable system. This has the great advantage that the backpack is more stable and comfortable! So choose the right size to match your back and /or body height!

    BACKPACK 339

The cave-like, easy-to-pack bag and the wearing comfort of an external steel frame make the 339 a great choice for longer trips. A classic model from the 1950s, only the materials have been renewed over the years but the design has remained the same. Compartments The main compartment is closed by tightening the opening with drawstring which is covered with a flap that can be fastened with straps. The straps are long enough to, for example, attach a coiled sleeping mat or blanket under the flap. If necessary, additional detachable tyres can be used to extend the tyres. The contents of the bag can also be accessed quickly via the small side zipper on the right side of the opening. Special is that on the sides of the bag there are strings that can be used to tighten it to make the bag firm with less stuff in it, the adjustment range is about 10 cm. Conveniently, you can pack extra supplies behind the side cords, for example a camping axe. The side pockets are ideal for packing large thermos bottles and other cumbersome, long necessities. You can put lots of small necessities in the generous outdoor compartment for quick and easy access. SUPPORT SYSTEM The frame of the support device is the steel tube frame of the 339. The lower part of the frame is curved and forms a base on which the backpack can also be placed safely on sharp stony ground. The supporting carrying system, similar to backpacks with external frame, ensures comfort. The back length is adjustable steplessly for users of different lengths. Your upper back is against stretched mesh and your lower back in turn against a belt saddle: these prevent the bag itself from largely hitting your back, which makes for less sweaty conditions. The shoulder straps are wider than normal and padded, a chest strap with buckle gives extra support. The support point of the shoulder straps is located at the top of the frame. It is possible to adjust the center of gravity of the backpack even while walking by tightening and loosening the adjusting straps of the shoulder straps. The operating principle is about the same as with the supporting support systems of external frame backpacks. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: External dimensions: height 50 cm, width 45 cm, depth 25-35 cm. Content: about 55-65 l. Weight: approximately 1.90 kg. (Weight frame 650 g) Material: cotton treated with paraffin, polyamide band. Frame: steel tube. Colour: olive green with black buckles. WARRANTY AND WARRANTY: The product has a 5-year warranty for material and manufacturing defects. KEY FLAG PRODUCT: This Finnish Key Flag product is partly manufactured at our factory in Estonia, but more than 50% of the work is made in Finland.
