Savotta Rajapartio / Border Patrol Backpack

Border controls A classic from 1989, known in Finnish as the Rajapartio, originally designed for the Finnish border guard. An internal tubular aluminium frame helps to carry unwieldy and heavy loads. What is special is that the Rajapartio backpack has attachment points for a rifle on the outside. Originally designed to carry an assault rifle, the attachment points can also be used very well to attach, for example, a camera tripod or other long special supplies. Compartments The upper main compartment (dimensions approximately 45 x 35 x 22 cm) is closed by attaching the opening of the drawstring, which is secured with a waterproof protective collar that also allows overpackaging. The opening is covered with a large flap that is secured with straps. The generous length of the straps offers plenty of space under the flap to overpack. In the flap is a large, open pouch. When the valve is closed, the opening of the bag is facing upwards and closes so that the contents do not fall. Against the back in the bag is a pocket the size of the entire back for the supporting frame of the backpack. The compartment is also ideal for carrying, for example, a water bag or other flat stuff. The lower compartment of the bag (dimensions about 15 x 35 x 20 cm) is closed with a two-way zipper and fastened with the same straps used to close the flap of the backpack itself. The side compartments (dimensions approximately 30 x 15 x 6 cm) are sealed with waterproof protective collars and covered with flaps that can be secured with straps. The side pocket on the left also has a vertical zipper which makes the contents of the box quickly accessible. OTHER ANCHORAGES On the flap at the back of the backpack and at the bottom of the bag you will find fastening loops to carry a rifle. The loops are also equally suitable for carrying other exceptionally long devices. The load is secured by tightening a belt that encloses the entire backpack. There are attachment points for detachable straps on top of the flap. Large essentials that otherwise do not fit in the backpack can be fastened on top of the flap. The side compartment on the right is tunnel-shaped and there is a mounting point above for a detachable belt. For example, it can easily hold an axe. SUPPORT SYSTEM The wide, anatomically shaped, sturdy shoulder straps and the well-padded hip belt ensure supported and comfortable wearing. The buckle of the hip belt can be detached very quickly with one hand. A very valuable function in a possible emergency. With the support handle on the top, the backpack is also easy to carry by hand. The back is reinforced with an internal, square tube frame made of DUR aluminum. This lightweight frame keeps the backpack upright and is comfortable to carry, even with a slightly heavier load. The support frame can also be removed from the backpack if desired. LJK MODULAR A modular, heavy-duty backpack with external frame, designed for the Finnish Armed Forces in 2008. Capacity approx. 80 l. The modular LJK is designed to meet the needs of the armed forces for a modern military backpack. The characteristics and details are well thought out according to the needs of the 21st century without compromising durability and reliability in extremely heavy military use. The backpack can be customized to your needs with separate pockets and numerous attachment points. There's not much left of the old LJK backpack, except for the name, external frame design and a construction that can withstand pretty much anything. The compartments and structure of the entire backpack have been completely redesigned. The end result is more practical than before and considerably more versatile. The modular LJK has also proved to be a functional and reliable carrier when used by the Finnish armed forces and the Finnish border guard. A traditional backpack with external frame is at its best with a heavy load, but is also suitable for lighter trips. The external tube frame ensures air circulation between the pocket itself and the user's back, significantly reducing the heat load. Although anatomical backpacks have taken over some grass in the backpack market, there are still situations where nothing is better than an external frame backpack. Compartments The upper compartment of the bag (dimensions about 50 x 35 x 25 cm) is closed by attaching the opening of the drawstring, which is secured with a waterproof protective collar that also allows overpackaging. The opening is first covered with a attached straps and is then covered with a generous flap that is secured with buckle closures. The straps are long enough to wear, for example, a sleeping bag or mat under the flap. In addition to the buckles on the straps, there are spare metal buckles under the valve in the event of a worst case scenario. The top and lower compartments of the bag are separated by an intermediate shot that can open, allowing the whole bag to be changed to one large compartment if desired. In the upper compartment there is a mesh bag for small items. The pouch can also contain a wide hydration bladder and on each top corner of the backpack are exhausts for the hoses. The bottom compartment of the bag (dimensions approximately 35 x 35 x 25 cm) is closed with a two-way zipper that is secured with two buckles. The buckles should always be fastened because they take away some of the weight and strain the zippers. The side pockets (dimensions approximately 30 x 17 x 11 cm) open from the top with long zippers. The side compartments are removable and can be attached to the sides or back of the backpack at the necessary height. They can also be completely omitted if desired. The bags are attached to the backpack with MOLLE girders used in military equipment. It is a very simple, durable and reliable attachment method. OTHER ANCHORAGES There is a generous number of fastening loops on top of the valve and in the main compartment. This makes it possible to secure even large loads (such as the beloved Sissi tent) on or under the valve by means of detachable tires. The loops on the inside of the flap are perfect for attaching a sleeping mat. Especially a military-style tent mattress can be attached to this by means of the elastic bands. There are several belt loops on the sides and back of the backpack that can be attached to various essentials with detachable straps. The backpack comes with four two-piece buckles that can be moved freely between the backpack's attachment points. By default, they are used to strengthen the attachment of the side boxes. There is a lot of MOLLE webbing on top of the flap, on the sides, back and bottom of the bag and in the lower compartment for attaching additional pockets. You can also easily tie supplies to the girth using detachable straps. The lower corners of the bag have open pockets to attach long devices, e.g. an axe handle, to the side of the backpack. The lower corners of the shoulder straps have loops that serve as attachment points for small objects, such as water bottles. SUPPORT SYSTEM The frame of the support system is the strong aluminium tube frame of the LJK model. Unlike civilian backpacks, it has no upper bend because the bend easily sits in the head's way when it is necessary to move on rough terrain. Furthermore, the frame is reinforced with additional support blocks. The shoulder straps and waistband are firmly padded and anatomically shaped. In addition, the lower back is supported by a separate thick pillow. The buckle of the hip belt is a special plastic buckle that can be pulled in both directions and can be opened by pressing on the middle. The nodded chest strap provides extra comfort and support when wearing. The stepless adjustable (in length and width) supporting support support system and hip belt of the backpack can be adapted to users of all different heights and sizes. It is possible to adjust the center of gravity of the shoulder straps even while walking by tightening and loosening the straps attached to the top of the frame. The bag is made from hard wearing/durable polyamide coated fabric and is padded with 20 mm plastic foam and protected with 1 mm rigid plastic. The bag is lined with a light coloured material on the inside which makes it easy to clean and to find things inside as most weapons and accessories are black.

The opening is zipped and with velcro band so that the bag is well sealed when closed.

There are two windows for owner identification on the bag, one each on the top and one of the ends.

The bag has two carrying handles and one shoulder strap with padding. A concealed backpack carrying system is behind the back plate for when you need to use both your hands.

The bag is descreet as it does not resemble a weapons bag.

Under the back panel there is a concealed backpack carrying system when you want to use the bag as a backpack.

The bag has two main compartments that each can accommodate one weapon - MP5 or Automatic Carbine

Many internal compartments for magazines/gun clips, radio, pistol, accessories etc.

The partitioning wall that divides the main compartments has several compartments for magazines/gun clips, weapons cleaning kit and other accessories. The wall is secured with velcro bands and can be removed from the bag to make space for larger items.

Large outside pocket that can be folded out and used as a ground cloth when you clean your weapon. It has inside compartments for pistol and radio with accessories is padded with 5 mm foam to protect it's contents.

The lid can be opened all the way with two parallel zippers. This makes it easy to get to the contents of the bag.

The handles can be connected with a padded piece of fabric and velcro.

A rifle backpack for a hunter which also meets the requirements for the transport of a firearm thanks to a new rain cover. It works both while hunting and on the way there. The robust and padded rifle compartment can accommodate a rifle with a larger scope as well. The whole package can be tightened sturdily with the compression straps of the bag, making carrying a firearm both comfortable and safe in any terrain. The slim design of Torrakko facilitates moving around in off-road conditions. The thinly padded shoulder straps make shooting while the backpack is on your back easy. The streamlined package has been designed to be as practical as possible. Torrakko has no extra protruding or entangling parts.

COMPARTMENTS

The bag (dimensions approximately 45 x 25 x 15 cm) is closed by tightening the drawstring opening which is covered with a protective flap that is secured with buckled straps. The main compartment opens also with two zippers spanning the full length the sides. If these are opened, the entire back of the backpack opens up, making all contents of the backpack very conveniently accessible. The bag can be tightened into a snug package by using the compression straps on the sides. There is a flat, zippered mesh pocket (dimensions approximately 20 x 20 cm) inside the flap where the game pouch of Torrakko is kept by default. The pocket is also ideal for other small items. The bottom of the backpack has a flat pocket which closes with Velcro (dimensions approximately 12 x 20 cm) where the rain cover of Torrakko is kept by default. The game pouch (dimensions approximately 35 x 35 cm) is a bag made of netted fabric with an opening that can be tightened using a drawstring. The game pouch is attached to the back of the backpack with four strap loops which are attached to the compression straps of the backpack. The rifle compartment of Torrakko (dimensions approximately 85 x 25 x 9 cm) is located between the bag and your back. It is open at the top and tapers towards the bottom for the barrel. The rifle can be secured tightly for carrying by using the compression straps of the backpack. The new rain cover covers the entire backpack and also the butt of the firearm which would otherwise remain exposed from the rifle compartment. The rain cover is fastened around the firearm with a zipper and a buckle. So with the rain cover in place, Torrakko is a legal firearm carrying case also in public places as well as in the car. You will no longer have to transport your firearm in a separate bag from which it is then transferred into a backpack. Your rifle can ride from home into the forest, during hunting and back again inside Torrakko.

OTHER ATTACHMENT POINTS

Extra supplies that would not otherwise fit inside the backpack can be tied conveniently to the buckled compression straps on the sides. Rain capes and break clothing, for example, travel with you conveniently and readily available on the sides of the backpack.

CARRYING SYSTEM

The back, shoulder straps and hip belt of the rifle carrying device are all lightly padded. There is plenty of room for adjustment in both the shoulder straps and the hip belt. The back of backpack has been reinforced with an internal plastic sheet. The padding pillows galore on the back make carrying comfortable.
