- Built around the unique and customizable DAKA GRID organizer, the C35 is designed to comfortably accommodate shorter rifles, as well as much of the extra gear needed to travel with your firearms. The DAKA GRID consists of expanded polypropylene (EPP) end panels, center panels, and DAKA blocks that fit securely together to create an advanced storage system that compartmentalizes your equipment. DAKA blocks can be easily pressed into GRID panels and can be removed and reinstalled just as easily to meet the needs of whatever you’re transporting. Unlike traditional foam inserts, DAKA GRID does not retain moisture, dirt or other contaminants. It’s lighter, infinitely adaptable, and significantly stronger than traditional foam, so you can greatly improve the organization and protection of your gear stored inside. If you’re transporting wider or taller equipment, such as lights, bipods, or lasers, a central GRID panel can also be reduced or removed to free up space for objects up to 10.79cm wide, as long as you support both ends of the firearm on the other panels. If you need to cut a panel to create a unique cavity for your larger equipment, EPP cuts smoothly, doesn’t flake like regular foam, and doesn’t lose its strength or ability to protect your important items.
- The DAKA hard case also offers extra storage space thanks to its four rounded, double-walled corner pockets, which create protective zones for extra shock resistance and also serve as storage space for other necessary equipment. The water and weatherproof seal prevents dust and moisture from entering the case and provides automatic pressure leveling, protecting the contents from the effects of external environmental factors. The case’s injection molding technology provides greater strength and integrity than other conventional cases, with durability and drop resistance that can withstand the harshest shipping, travel, and use conditions.
- The design of the latch, combined with the increased rigidity of the case, makes the latches easy to use and incredibly robust. Each lock has a large push button that is easy to operate with one hand. When the button is pressed, the latch opens and remains in the open position, and can be used as a handle to open the lid. The latch closes with a simple downward pressure anywhere on the body of the latch and you will hear an audible ‘click’ when the latch is engaged. The innovative lock design also features a newly designed locking system. Each clasp on the DAKA case contains a lock passage and once a lock is fitted (we recommend a lock with a 5/16″ thick shackle and 1-1.5″ internal space), the clasp cannot be opened until the lock is removed, securing the entire case. In addition, each latch has a lock body and a zippered passage that allows the user to attach the latch to the case, protecting both the latch and the case from damage caused by impacts. The hard case contains two Velcro straps for this purpose.
- Interlocking lugs provide a positive interface when DAKA cases are stacked on top of each other and two integrated strap slots keep the ratchet straps in place and secure during use. Two large main handles are easy to handle under load and a third integrated handle near the wheels makes it easy to move the suitcase around and allows it to stand upright. The handles have a cross-section inspired by Magpul pistol grips for greater comfort and control, and they are fully recessed into the frame of the case. They are designed to remain open when in use and to remain closed when not in use. The wheels are designed to roll smoothly and last, with less noise, friction and dirt ingress thanks to ball bearings, rubber overmoulding and fibreglass-reinforced nylon hubs.
