Recommended by the U.S. Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (CoTCCC) and used by NATO forces and first responders around the world. CELOX™ Gauze is designed to stop bleeding from life-threatening injuries in emergency situations. Independent comparative tests in the form of a meta-analysis reported a statistically significant improvement in survival with CELOX™
Gauze, compared to alternative agents.
- Published success in the field.
- Stops leakage successfully.
- CELOX™ gauze was associated with a significantly reduced amount of blood loss after treatment.
- Can be used in patients taking anticoagulants or in patients with trauma-induced coagulopathy.
- Improved survival.
CELOX™ stops severe traumatic bleeding
In a meta-analysis in a combat situation, where minimizing treatment time was highly desirable, CELOX™ Gauze outperformed the other hemostatic agents tested and was the only one to show a statistically significant improvement in survival, including in the more severely injured. Of the 3,792 cases, a hemostatic bandage was applied in 317 cases (CELOX,™ Hemcon or QuikClot). When comparing patients who had a hemostatic dressing applied versus no hemostatic agent, there was a 7% improvement in survival. CELOX™ was the only individual hemostatic association associated with a statistically significant improvement in survival, which was most evident in the more severely injured (NISS 36–75).
