The double-layer PU midsole with a MONOWRAP® frame surrounds and supports the foot like an exoskeleton. The ZEPHYR MK2 GTX HI is certified as a work footwear according to EN ISO 20347:2012. It is antistatic and has a cold and heat-insulating sole. The outsole is not only non-slip - it is also resistant to oil, gasoline and contact heat. This allows the shoe to be individually adapted to the anatomy of the foot and strung in different ways for climbs and descents. DOUBLE INJECTION, UPPER AND SOLE BECOME A FIXED UNIT For effective cushioning and increased comfort, the sole of the ZEPHYR MK2 GTX HI is attached to the upper in a technically demanding injection process. The upper is placed in a specially designed mold. Then several layers of PU foam are poured into it. During this process, the sole and upper material are fastened together. Lightweight For this process, a plastic called polyurethane is used. It is a very light foam filling. Damping The plastic polyurethane is a foam filling with very good damping properties. The plastic retains its shape and bounces back to its original state, even when the millions of small bubbles are often pressed together. This, in turn, creates a good rebound effect. A wide range of design options Thanks to direct injection, the sole can be designed in a very large number of ways. Due to the versatile properties of the materials used, the shoes can be effective in a large number of areas. STABLE FRAME With the LOWA-MONOWRAP® frame, the midsole of the ZEPHYR MK2 GTX HI offers the very best comfort. This three-dimensional design of the midsole was developed by LOWA in 1995. The frame cradles the foot comfortably and supports it when the wearer of the shoe ventures over uneven surfaces. The sole design is slightly raised for shoes with a STABILITY FRAME.
