The harness is easily attached to the object you want to wear and is usually used in two different types of configurations. To adjust the length of the strap, the line is simply tied off. In the backpack configuration, an object is attached at two points, this could be a second weapon system or a chainsaw for example. In this configuration, a jacket or sweater may have been changed to a temporary backpack.
In the suspender configuration, the lines are interwoven and placed on your back. In this configuration, an object is attached by a point in the top, this can be a pair of gas canisters or water jugs, ammunition holders or a stretcher. For most applications, the lines are usually directly connected to the object. To the pendulum points of the
weapons system, for example.
